It’s not though. The forwards you brought in are nice, tho Copp isn’t coming here. But if we’re fully trusting Salo, we need a legit top 4 defenseman, not a borderline guy

not a fan of Puljujärvi and Nichushkin but I do like Copp alot. Agree Copp isn't coming here though.

I meant best team defense, hence my signings/trade for a bunch of two-way forwards

Oh well yeah, but they’d need to do better than Soucy and Salo to compete

I'd love this deal for Beauvillier.

Varly won't waive for EDM.

Beau should not be traded for picks.

Soucy is a 3rd pairing D-Man.

We dk nit need him if we are rebuilding, and there's no point of trading future assets too to acquire him

They shouldn't break the bank for him right now, but the deal above is a young top 6 forward at a discount. They'd be foolish to decline such deals because "they are rebuilding". Guys like Puljujarvi and Beauvillier are young enough to be part of the next window if they can get them for cheap.

Just because a player is from QC doesn't mean montreal triple pay his value.

They ain't trading the 33rd overall for plug, they'll trade it to move up or with something else to get a top 6 age 23 or younger

A plug lol - Beauvillier is better than Josh Anderson who MTL pays 5.5 mill for the next 5 years. Pick 33 wouldn’t get Beauvillier anyways

why would the islanders trade Beauvillier and replace him with an older , worse and more expensive player in Andrew copp?

Copp is most certainly better than Beauvillier

Beauvillier is the better goal scorer and play driver over the last 3 years

Copp is also exiting his prime. Are we trying to remain the oldest and slowest team in the NHL?
