Possible Canucks RFA targets

Created by: SGB88

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 10, 2022
Published: Jun. 10, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If it's your team would you match? If you're the Canucks would you be happy if the other teams didn't match? Would the players even be willing to sign these? I'm just curious what people think of these possible offer sheet targets.

Isles, devils, rangers and blue jackets easily match and penguins probably match the only team that you have a chance to get the player is Roy from the golden knights

1 Isles would easily match that offer sheet on Noah Dobson.
2 Rangers would have a hard time matching without moving out a few bodies.
3 Pittsburgh probably just takes the 2nd round pick.
4 Vegas takes the 2nd round pick and moves on.
5 NJ wont qualify or they give him a cheap one year deal.
Can't see Columbus not matching on Boqvist.

I love how Canuck fans call Kakko a bust when he is involved in one of their fantasy land Miller trades to NY, but then they also want to offer sheet him. Such a funny and silly fanbase.

You'd have to go high into the next compensation window to get Boqvist. The CBJ have plenty of cap space so it would need to cross into the amount of money that makes them question whether or not he is worth spending that much on. $5.5+ mil probably gets them to start questioning that.

Canucks fans view his trade value as a 2nd rounder. So offersheeting him for a 2nd is fair value. Having him be a principle piece in a JT Miller trade is not

I mean he is a bust so far. 4.2 a year is a huge overpay but I'd trade a 2nd rounder for him so this is a way to do it/ I think NYR values him higher than a second but would have trouble matching this contract

Rangers could, and most likely would easily match that. Would just mean Chytil has to be the 2C next year

They could, But it would be extremely tight once they resign Andrew Copp and others. The good thing for the NYR is that Copp would be only their real big expensive player the rest will be cheaper. Might need to try and move Nemeth at least.

Not a chance I trade Schneider for JT 1 for 1 because JT is a 1 year rental for the Rangers, but you're too dumb to understand that I guess. I did. It was the 19th Ranger playoff game I have enjoyed this year....how many Canuck playoff games have you enjoyed this year?

Like I said if Kakko got a 4.2 mill offer Copp would have to walk and Chytil would have to be 2C

I thought i saw somewhere where Gerard Gallant was making Chytil the full time 2C there in New York. If so that probably means that Copp will be gone as that's more then likely where he'd want to play.

Gallant is way smarter than that. Chytil is not a 2C, not even close. Maybe he will be someday.

Yeah he'd be crazy to do that Chytil is still unproven and raw.

They didn't give up a 1st, 2nd and Barron to let Copp walk. He will get a long term deal as 2C. I can see Chytil being traded.

Definitely can see that as well, For the right price i wouldn't mind Chytil in a Wings jersey. Probably wont get more than a 2nd round pick at the most.

His value jumped based on his playoffs, and he has 1 more year at a reasonable cap hit. I think he becomes a cap casualty.

His value jumped based on his playoffs, and he has 1 more year at a reasonable cap hit. I think he becomes a cap casualty.

Possibly a late 1st early 2nd round pick then. Still wouldn't mind him in a Wings jersey.

I have yet to observe you have a good take on this site. Let me know when you learn how hockey and the NHL work.
