Why on earth would the Jets be interested in Girgensons? They get way more than that for a career ppg player

Ballsy trade for Schiefele
Don’t think he’d extend unless we make the playoffs this season, so he might just end up being a rental for us

U guys are in a tough spot with Schiefele
With 2years left on his deal, no team acquiring him will be able to extend him for a year. And if he decides he wants to get to free agency, then he’s becomes a rental.

Even though it would be for longer than your typical rental,
it’s still a risky move that not a lot of teams would be willing to take. That could lower the turn you’d get.

If the Jets trade Scheifele they need a young top 6 C or young top pair RHD, or guys with the potential to get there, coming back. This doesn't have that so Winnipeg says no.
