Feels like 13OA and Raty is what we’ll be looking for. We need C’s. But not sure how much interest we’d have in Raty as we passed on him twice in the draft less than a year ago. I don’t see the main prospect in the return for Fiala being a wing.

Moving Raty for Fiala would represent a massive organizational failure. Fact he was passed on by so many teams at the draft doesn’t reflect his value or the year he had in Finland.

I’d rather stay the course than move for Fiala tbh. Didn’t Fiala’s numbers skyrocket with Boldy?

You have Marco Rossi coming in next year.

Let’s be real here. Why is Fiala not with Barzy lmao. That’s what I want to know. 😂😂😂

They were both centered by Freddie Gaudreau. Give Fiala either Nelson or Barzal and at the very least he can replicate those numbers.

Why are Bellows and Holmstrom on the 3rd line?

IK he was, but Boldy helped him tremendously correct? Gaudreau is a solid bottom six player but he was able to move around the lineup in the playoffs for Pitt two years ago. He impressed me then.

I actually like Bellows lol. Low shooting percentage and TOI last year but he still produced pretty well. Holmstrom has ability too but I don’t c him being called up next year.

Sure but Boldy and Fiala were both shutdown in the playoffs for the fact that they didn't have a true center driving that line. That's why Evason alternated Gaudreau with Jost during the playoffs.

I don’t think Jost is a center tbh. That probably hurt them.

I see one if not both being traded. Fwiw, I think Minnesota declines this trade. They need help on the PK badly.

I like Jost but he’s not productive. I don’t understand it.

I don’t think Lou likes trading prospects. Look at Pageau and Palmieri deals.

He’s not even comfortable moving veterans. How does Toews only get your organization two seconds? How does Leddy get you a second but you somehow end up with Richard Panik at 50% retained?

Any chance you can will Lambert to fall like Raty did to the late second? Lol

I don’t know how you can proclaim that now, Raty isn’t a sure fire HOF prospect. The NYI beat writer for the Athletic mentioned a Raty and 13OA swap for Fiala.

Passing on him twice in the draft doesn’t reflect value, it reflects desire of player. That was my point, I don’t know how interested the Wild would be in him.

So, you have to take into consideration a few things.
1. Everyone knew the Islanders were in a cap bind thanks to Ladd's deal and the potential of a threat of arbitration by Toews. Teams used that as leverage hence why Lou only got 2 2nds.
2. Regarding Leddy, Detroit wanted to end their playoff drought and used their boatload of cap space to take on Leddy with no salary retained. To compensate for Panik, they gave us the 2nd rounder.

Each scenario is different. I disagree with your primary statement. Lou doesn't give 2 ****s about seniority. Exposed Eberle 2 years after signing him. Traded Leddy, a Trotz favorite. Exposed Bailey instead of Beauvillier. Fired Trotz with 1 year left on his deal.

That’s one C. We need another one. Hartman and Freddie were our top 2 C’s last year. Neither should be in those roles. And Rossi was a defensive liability at C in Iowa last year, so questions remain if he can stick at C. Our lack of true C’s were really exposed against the Blues.

Kurz was wrong to say that. He thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room. He’s that co worker who has the wrong takeaway from every situation.

Minnesota needs PK help and draft capital just for the sake of offseason ammunition to go centerhunting as well as deadline ammunition.

I disagree with Rossi being a defensive liability. He was fine in his own end in Iowa. He should be their 2C next year. Personally I think he can handle it.

Look at the last five guys who went 13th. Jarvis and Suzuki r already better pieces to have on ur team. Dellandrea and Knight were selected over guys who r better or will be better than Fiala.
