Devils just want to dump Zacha at this point it seems considering he's likely to get anywhere between 3.5-4.5 and it seems they already tried to trade for Anderson twice before. The first time when he still was in a CLB uniform and at this very last TDL.
Columbus already has a pretty good pipeline so they could afford to trade up and get Slaf or Cooley to maybe get a star.
Montreal trades someone that is very good today for futures.

Every agent posts their player as sought after, hell Vlasic's agent has tweeted multiple teams interested in him but he wants to stay in San Jose! like anyone wants Vlasic's contract lol.
this is stuff were suppose to just ignore.

and as for the trade NJD's giving up the younger player with more potential and the 2nd OA for an older player with diminishing skill-set on a long expensive contract and the 6OA just doesn't make sense.
Neither does giving up the 6th and the 12th for the 2nd in a draft where 2-14 are all so close in potential and ability. giving up the 6th and 12th next year for the top 3 makes sense because those 3 are clearly better than the guys at 6-12. but Slafkovsky isnt clearly better than Savoie or even Korchinski let alone combined (Savoie and Korchinski are the choices I would assume CBJ are looking at)

In all of these proposals the Canadiens are benefiting from the Blue Jackets draft capital to boost their own return. Any deal that has the Jackets sending out 6 and 12 for 2 needs to have them getting at least 26 from Montreal too.

People are dramatic but this is a decent idea in a normal year where there would be a clear top 3 prospect list.

IMO it all comes up to Columbus not being willing to trade up and lose a high value pick when they can do nothing and get 2 very good prospects in the top 15. The quality difference between 6th and 2nd is very marginal and definitly not worth to loose another 1st rounder.
