Miller to a clear contender makes much more sense than Miller to Columbus. He's just too old and will cost too much for the team they're building.

These trades are pretty bad for the Canucks.

I don't know why CBJ would want Miller. CBJ is rebuilding. Not to mention that would be a poor return for Miller. I could see something like the Marino trade happening. I don't like the Myers-Kapanen trade considering 14 teams are interested in Myers if the Canucks retain 1 million. A 4th is probably fair for Kapanen's RFA rights. Kapanen will probably sign closer to 4 million. Brock is probably signing closer to 7. Paying a 3rd line winger 5.5 million is insane. There is a chart for trade up/down value and I think that would be a crazy overpayment to Vancouver for the 15th.

Last year, Detroit gave 23, 48 an 138 for 15. No way Canucks gets 27, 32 and 45 for 15 this year.
