It'll be either one of these trade formats, but between Tortorella as coach and Fletcher's infatuation with big players I'd bet my car they go out and get Josh Anderson this summer, probably in the form of overpayment

I figured that more likely, it'd probably end up they send Konecny to a 3rd party to clear his cap hit

I would hate to see Andy go but would thank Fletcher for his ignorance lol.

It would kind of be like the Roy trade when the Avs got him. This is how I imagine it went down in the Avs room. GM walks in says to the guys, I got good news and bad news. Bad news is Jocelyn Thibault, Martin Ručinský and Andrei Kovalenko you have all been traded. Guys look around and someone says what is the good news? GM replies Patrick Roy is coming back the other way. Guys look at Thibault, Ručinský and Kovalenko and say sorry to see you go but do you need help packing?! We can also just have your stuff delivered if you want!

I would be sad to see Andy go but for that package, I would drive to Montreal and help him pack lol.

Fletcher gets crazy tunnel vision for guys that he wants, and I could almost guarantee he's salivating at the idea of Anderson in Philly. I'd be shocked if we go this offseason without Fletcher overpaying for Josh Anderson, its just too obvious of an idea

Since when is Josh Anderson such a coveted player? Guy's a third line grinder that can't stay healthy on a terrible contract. What am I missing here?

-Chuck Fletcher adores big players
-He not only played for Tortorella, but had a career year under him and defended him on public record when he faced scrutiny
-He plays with that "Broad Street Bullies" edge
-He has term on his deal, which Fletcher is a sucker for
-He can play in just about all situations

It's like, the perfect match for a Charles Fletcher overpay

I'd bet they don't go after Josh Anderson. He's not "high end talent".

If Fletcher does, he needs to be fired on the spot. I'll drive him to the airport.

While Anderson is bad defensively, all Habs fans like him and considered him a top 6 winger. I just don’t understand other fans saying what they are missing, just ****ing watch him lol you’ll understand

I don't think he'll be the only move of the offseason, but I'd absolutely bet Fletcher will make a sizable offer for him. It fits his MO to an almost comical level

May I ask where have you been seeing rumors of this? I haven heard anything about Anderson. I've seen Petry rumors from around the TDL.

This isn't a rumor, this is what I think Chuck Fletcher will do based on his history as a GM

I'd do this trade honestly. Anderson had his career year with Torts and TK has reached his ceiling

Konecnys down years are better than Andersons career year.

It's more of a culture fit. He's been here for six years and while he's our most "skilled" player, he's super soft and isn't a shoot-first player. I liked Anderson when he was in CBJ and I'd like the Flyers to take a swing on him. TK's fine but he ain't gonna be anything special here

Downgrading from konecny to Anderson just because the phlyers are obsessed with being a hard hitting team is a good way to stay mediocre.

I've traded him on here before for Greig + 2nd + 3rd many times before. If this trade happened it's not like I'd lose my mind and curse the team for trading away TK. I don't really think it's just that much of a downgrade when you consider how both players fit into the culture and style of the team

I think TK is tapped out in terms of how much better he can get in Philadelphia. He's young, but he's entering his 7th year with the team and still hasn't "broken through" into a top-line player. It's not to say that he couldn't, it's just that the likelihood of him doing it here is running low.
