Massive over-pays for Malkin and Letang at their ages.

I like this team I just dont know how it all fits together...

So you bring in Bear? Love it. But you keep Marino? You only bring in Bear if you dish Marino...

Also. Look at how expensive that blue line is...

The pens had massive issues with SCORING in their second half of the season especially from their bottom 6. So your soliution is to bring in a guy who had 4 points and ZERO goals with the Flames and then inject him into the top 6? I like Jarnkrok too but like... I dont really know if thats the solution. Take the money you gave Bear and Jarnkrok and use it to bring in a better 2nd Line LW who can actually score...

Then there is issues with your AAVs on some people. I dont think Rodrigues comes back that cheap (although I do agree thats what hes worth). Then you overpay for Desmith too...

I dont mind the AAVs on Geno or letang those are fine

I dont even hate this team it just fits weirdly. Look at the Pens last year. Expensive but capable blue line. No depth scoring. So your plan is to further dig the blueline into a hole (financially), and then weaken the scoring? Idk...

We already have 3 capable wingers that can score, Guentzel, Rust and the newest and welcome addition, Rakell.
E-Rod, Heinen, Jarnkrok can slot in on any line. Jarnkrok, IMO, is somewhat of an upgrade over Zucker. He’s a combination of both Tanev and ZAR. I feel like he’d fit perfectly with the Pens.
I was also thinking of not signing Letang in favour of Lyubushkin, who’d be much cheaper. Marino, Bear, and Lyubushkin as the righty’s. But the D looks solid as is, last minute choice things lol

Yeah like I said I dont even hate the pieces or the team, I like Jarnkrok, I like Bear, I like letting DOC play, I like bringing back Geno, Letang, and Rakell. I just think this team doesn't fit.

If I knew I had Bear, I would move Marino for say a Brock Boeser or JT Miller type player since VAN has been rumoured to love Marino. Obviously that wouldn't be a 1for1 deal but it would be the pieces involved. Then I'd dish McGinn's contract and POSSIBLY one of Dumo/Pettersson and then you have the cap to really upgrade your top 6 without really downgrading your D that much.

You could easily deploy a d core of say Dumo - Letang, Matheson - Bear, Ruhwedl/Friedman/POJ/Lyubushkin/ whoever else you wanna sign. And be fine. Leaving you much more cap space to make your bottom 6 intact and upgrade your top 6. You could get guys like Jarnkrok and Rodrigues to stay in the bottom 6 where they can be solid effective players, and still upgrade your top 6. All while keeping a strong enough D core.

I think this team has potential, its just youd need to make one or two more moves to make it "right" if that makes sense.

I don't think that we're paying a third for Zucker, and Gruden isn't much of a sweetener.

In my opinion, D is too expensive. Package Marino for a forward or better yet dump Pettersson and Jarnkrok for a forward. That's 6.8mil you would have. That would make a great team.

I would say dump McGinn to but that might just be nitpicking lol

I like it value wise. Would want to see his some of our FAs play out before bringing in Kap tho. I see him as more of an option B
