Habs grab Mackinnon to jumpstart their rebuild next year. nah im joking but mr Clutch Lehkonen gets around 4-4.5 mil. If Kadri wants to win his chances are higher with colorado than some bottom 10 team willing to pay him 8 mil.

I think the number for Kadri is fair and he likely gets at least $8m, but if the cap doesn't go up significantly who do you take off the roster the following year when MacKinnon gets $12 million or more?

I think Colorado and Lehkonen come together on a short deal (2-3 years) at just north of $3.5M. On a long term deal like this, I agree he would get more.

Also agree on Kadri. Folks are throwing around very high numbers, but pretty much all of the contending teams are strapped for cap space. He may have to decide between $7M in Colorado (same as Landeskog) or like $1M per year more in a place that is at least a few years away. My bet is he stays in Colorado, but who knows.

Lehkonen was good for this team, but if they are going to pay Kadri what he is in line to earn this offseason I don't see them resigning him, Goign cheaper on a Fleury deal would help as well. IT really gets hard then with Mackinnion, that is gonna be a tough pill to swallow.

Johnson is up at the same time so i think he’d take less & Mack gets his raise

I think if the Avs keep Kadri it will cost them another significant player down the road. Sturm is way too low at 900k. The only reason the Wild traded him was because they knew he would warrant a significant raise. A center who scores double digit goals his first two seasons playing 4th line minutes is going to want to see what he can do with 15 minutes a game and someone will pay him $2-2.5 million just because he's a center with some skill.

The Re-signing Mack should be rather easy considering they gain 13 million in cap space between Johnson, Braun, Fleury, Compher.
