Not the trade you think

Description
I know a lot of blues fans will hate some of these moves and others of you probably will too. Im not a GM unfortunately.

These moves I think help us stay competitive right now, bring in some young players with promise, and help us with our long-term outlook. The 23-24 season I see this team able to resign all 3 of Thomas, kyrou, and oreilley. Pull Holloway and Neighbors on the 4th with torp and you’ve been able to rule an amazing, incredibly deep forwards for a very cheap cap hit. Might even have some olde players to sell for young assets so that your current young assets can move up the line up while those ones develop. Think maybe Saad or in this case marchment. Also gives us a really solid center in Holloway so our main draft need would switch the D with these upcoming draft picks.

Let me know your thoughts on these trades and this team.

Sure, I'd love Kylington, but Calgary isn't doing that. Edmonton passes, too. Not really high on Comrie myself. I'd rather go with Chucky.

Drop the pick, then what? A lot of the fans seem to include him in their ACGM. Obviously we’re all dumb but still. Barby is a cheap 60pts center which could help them out.

Edmonton doesn't have the cap to take on Vlad Tarasenko, Edmonton is already tight up against the cap as it is. They need to unload their scraps with sweeteners as it is.

I like the EDM trade, but doubt they do it for a rental. Maybe drop Holloway. I don't think CGY would be shopping Kylington either. Marchment is nice but not necessary with Neighbours coming in soon. Maybe instead of Marchment, retain on Tarasenko.

    That's all for Tarasenko?

Yeah I was thinking after one year trade marchment and bring neighbors in to 2LW and drop Saad down to 3LW or trade Saad. I think neighbors needs 1 full year in the AHL. Would hate to rush him

That's not good GM morale to sign a player with term and then sell them when it becomes convenient. Just pass on that signing altogether.

you say that like he didn't have his best season after shoulder injury doubts. If anything, it's the lack of term that they say no, but he's worth a package like that. If he extends with them, I think EDM is willing. I doubt Tarasenko wants to go to Canada long-term though.

I'm saying Edmonton should be adding

Oh, in that case I agree but that's a fine package imo for a one-year rental. Different if extension is agreed on.

Is Barbashev a 60pt player, or one that scored 60pts once?

Probably the latter, which is why Blues should be shopping him.

It was a really impressive season none-the-less. Too bad for him it didn't come in a contract year.
