I would say between 25% and 50% Blackwood gets traded. Our GM was clearly pissed at him during the season. But they seem to have resolved at least some of the issues.

Blackwood came into season unprepared. He didn’t take care of his body and rushed back to lineup. He played hurt, but told staff he was fine. After NJD lost Wedgewood on waivers, Blackwood admitted he was hurting, Fitzy went ape**** and put him in the doghouse.

The Devils went through one of the worst goaltending seasons in recent memory. They dressed 8 different guys - even had to sign their EBUG for a game. It was bad, very very bad, but not all on one guy.

Fitzgerald and Blackwood have smoothed things out. Blackwood fired his agent and Fitzgerald recommitted to him in post-season media availability.

The belief is that he will bring in a goaltender “to compete with” MackBlack but not to replace him. But we shall see.
