ah i made a similar trade with jp and georgiev. as much as i would love for it to happen, i don't think that is truly georgiev's value. i would say a 2nd straight up is the most realistic.

This isn't "Josh anderson for 7th overall pick" bad but it's pretty close

AZ has picks to spare, cap space to spend, and they get a "veteran presence" who's "won a cup"

There are less costly, more sensible ways to take a step backwards, if that's what we're going for.

i think you're underestimating Lindgren's market value, by a lot. this is a league where teams were fighting tooth and nail to trade a first and more for Ben Chiarot at the trade deadline...

and of course Goodrow's "intangibles" (we know NYR wasn't the only team willing to offer him that much). Vegas is in cap hell and don't have much negotiating room

like keep Rooney, Reaves, Goodrow, Nemeth, and just continue to get dominated on both ends of the ice like we just did all season, bailed out by Igor. but yea step backwards

Goodrow doesn't fit AZ's timeline. Ottawa doesn't need ld they need rd a lot more. Roy isn't the cap dump The bidding war created if he becomes available eliminates most if not all of the cap hell BS!

OTT already has Chabot and Sanderson on the left side. They aren't giving up 7 for a 3rd pair D-man that had 15 points last year.

Does Arizona really have a timeline? If anything he would, it's rumored they're interested in signing Kadri to show they're committed to putting a winning team in that college rink.

Lindgren right behind Chabot and ahead of Sanderson. The league does not see Lindgren as a 3rd pairing D

2023 1st rounder. And points? Really? He's a defensive defenseman lol one who the league holistically doesn't see as a 3rd pair

if they don't the entire Management team should be fired immediately. take off the broadway glasses and be honest it's a meh trade for Ottawa at best

While I did overlook the year for the first, I don't that changes the sens passing. He'd be paired with a guy like Zietsev or Del Zotto, and that is a real rough pairing there to give up a 1 for.

we're talking about a young and cost-controlled Ryan Lindgren who plays 20 min a night with positive defensive metrics, that also has a league-wide reputation for being a first pair defenseman. again, in real life, teams actually paid a first and more for 20 games of Ben Chiarot, who is literally the worst defenseman in the league. Lindgren could 100% net a first round pick, hell Brady Skjei did too

He’s not worth a lottery ticket for the best draft in almost the last decade.

Chiarot went for a top 10 protected 1st that in all likelihood will be in the 20’s and had the potential to even become a ‘24 1st. Not even close to the same thing as Ottawa giving up a pick that could potentially be Bedard.

Meant to quote you in my other comment but you’re not wrong. A 1st? Maybe. An unprotected 1st in the best draft of the last 8 years from the 7th worst team in the league this year. Absolutely not. Florida’s 1st and Ottawas 1st are not weighed the same.

Ryan Lindgren and Ben Chiarot aren't weighted the same either though. there wasn't a D man in the league with worse metrics than Ben Chiarot. idk how to make it a protected first on here but i would add that protection if i could, that's fair

Blinders. Buch @5.8m had little interest, hence the return. Drury is a known champion, the only bad gamble was Nemethis and possibly the picks for rentals.
Next year your bubble team is -4m. Crazy long terms on rfas. Kulak gets way more. Goodrow > Roy. Pulj is not a fit. You underestimate Lindgren
