Fair enough... not an Isle fan. Doesn't change the fact that I think he would waive for the Island.

I think a lot of these returns are unrealistic for one year of Patrick Kane. A 1st round pick and a good-but-not-great prospect is the best I think teams will get.

Do you think Kane gets more or less than DeBrincat? Personally, I would bet he gets less. DeBrincat is younger, cheaper, and will be an RFA, whereas Kane is older, more expensive (without retention), and will become a UFA. DeBrincat essentially will cost 9mil, whereas right now Kane costs 10.5mil. Unfortunately for Chicago, I think that the return on DeBrincat really shot them in the foot in terms of what Kane will get. My guess would be a 1st round equivalent along with a 3rd round equivalent at this point.

I would hope he would, and the Isles absolutely send their 2023 first for him. But for the cap to work Bailey has to go as well, then the Isles could include Koivula who is NHL ready center blocked by their depth and Holmstrom who has developed nicely and close to NHL ready.

My thought process is what he would be worth at the deadline and go from there. These teams are all contending and I imagine they would value Kane enough to pay something not so dissimilar to what trade ideas... Point is, I don't think these are out of touch demands.

don’t think davidson has much leverage to ask for any of these packages after that horrible debrincat deal

I just don't see Kane getting traded because he won't warrant a bigger return than debrincat and chicago most likely values him higher than what they'll get

He will surely waive for a team like Edmonton also.

Depends on what other moves they make. They aren't as legit (NYI apart) as the other teams as currently constructed.

Alternative is that the Hawks keep him for the season and lose him for nothing next summer.

i think of all the options the isles are the most realistic but minus the 2nd or raty. raty might be the top prospect but this is lou he will flip prospects.

if the rangers get that offer i think they say yes and hangup and fax the paperwork before they can hear anything different.

I think the Canes do Necas and a 2nd for 1 year of Kane. The salary retention may be worth a 1st, but I doubt it.

Nope, Lou does not trade his top prospects. Hasn’t done it in the last decade. Wahlstrom and Dobson have been asked for in a trade over 10x and Lou has declined. Raty is also close to the ideal Lou player and he also has a decent chance at being a star. He’s not going anywhere

It’s a fact that Lou rejected every trade that included Dobson or Wahlstrom. When was the last time Lou traded one of his top prospects?
