Description
Just kinda spitballing, I dont see Price coming back, at least sustainably, and Primeau is not ready yet, hence the Tokarski signing. Personally, I just see Dadonov as injury coverage, not much more. This roster of course is not meant to win whatsoever. The goal for next year is Bedard, so while the roster is quite young, it doesnt really matter a whole lot. The rest of the RFAs like Brook, Schueneman etc. I think Montreal will sign but it doesnt really add anything to show them here imo.

Isles have no need for centers, and literally took Beau to the draft with them to present jerseys to their picks. He is not going anywhere.

If Dallas wasn’t going to trade their 2022 1st, they are absolutely not trading their 1st Round pick in a deeper draft

If Petry was worth a first he would have been traded yesterday. His term and $$$ is too much for too long at his age.

-drouin deal feels like the kind of deal you'd see them make at the deadline - I can't see the Avs doing that over the summer unless they strike out on e v e r y o n e they're trying to sign

-i don't know if Anderson's cap fits into Edmonton's plans right now - they've only got about $15M in cap space and need to figure out their goalie situation and fill out their D depth before taking that plunge. not saying it's a bad move but not sure if it's a top priority for them.

-gonna defer to the Stars fans in here - I think that Petry makes sense for Dallas if they move on from Klingberg but i agree that a 2023 1st is a hefty price to pay. I think that you have to set your sights a little lower, or hang onto Petry.

-in a vacuum the value is fine on the Beauvillier-Dvorak trade but the Islanders aren't going to trade for another center when they already have Barzal-Nelson-JG Pageau-Cizikas with multiple years of team control left. Their main need forward-wise is on the wings, so trading one to get another center isn't really a move I can see them making.

-the Sabres already have a handful of young goalies with more potential than Montembault - I feel like they're going to be looking for a more solid/established guy if they're moving out assets for an upgrade in net.

@dannibalcorpse Yeah, I agree with all of the points you made. And yeah, I meant to write it in there that the Drouin deal would be a deadline trade. For EDM, I can see them being more willing if Kane chases money elsewhere, and also I feel like Ken Holland would make a trade like that, because well...he's Ken Holland. Also damn, I didnt realize the isles has so many centers, if anything maybe they'd have interest in Armia, but yeah it would have to be an overpay for them to move beau. My reasoning for the Dallas 1st, is I can see Petry's value becoming inflated and they pull the trigger on it, the Habs could retain salary but that could bite them when they have to resign all the young guys in the coming seasons. Lastly, the monty trade was a bit of a "whatever team takes him" trade, again I forgot to write that in the trade box. Thanks so much for actually being constructive instead of the typical "bad trade lmao" comments grin
