Based on cat trade I’d do a first and a third for Cane. He shouldn’t get more than cat did. Well maybe he should but given your GMs short track record he shouldn’t.

This is actually one of the biggest tank jobs we have seen in real time in the NHL for years........Johnson and Jones will also be moved out with Toews and Kane.

Hawks want to bottom out this year as strong draft comming next year......but really need to bottom out for 3 years to do a complete rebuild.

Not all first are created equal. In theory the Canes 2023 1st should be 28OA or worse.

Can't go full nuclear IMHO. Need quality vets to lead the movement, but yeah, we'll see.

Very true. But Kane would be much less likely to be a long term fit in CAR than somebody like Cat given their age. That’s the most I’d give up and if it’s not enough I’m fine not making the deal.

Kane and Toews have too much pride to be part of a tank job and are telling Davidson they both want out now.

The early 2000s were probably even harder

Necas and a 2nd for Kane half retained should be fine. DeBrincat didn’t return a player, and Necas has a lot of untapped potential. Make the 2nd conditional based on if the Canes win the Cup AND on how many points Kane gets, and if met, it upgrades to a first. I don’t see Kane getting more than DeBrincat pick wise, but value wise, this would be a little bit more than DeBrincat, especially if the condition is met.
