I think they probably keep Texier for the year. He was great with Robinson and Kuraly last year and he's a very good top 6 option if there are injuries. Maybe they move him next summer if his expected cap hit gets too high.

Yeah, Nyquist retained at 50% was the only chance of getting a pick this high. He's likely a cap dump at full salary and maybe the Jackets get leveraged into sending a pick with him now considering their position.

Not turning my nose up at the player. He would likely get something good at the trade deadline with salary retained. But if you’re looking to move him with all of his salary right now you won’t get full value. A third is a pretty good bet. Teams that have cap space that are rebuilding or retooling that could take him likely wouldn’t want to give up first or second round picks

Ducks say no for Bean, too high of a pick for someone who's become nothing in his career + Ducks already have 2 NHL caliber offensive defenceman on the right side. Maybe a third for Gavrikov, Blue Jackets get the cap dump and Ducks fill a need (2nd pairing LHD)

Nobody paying a 1st unprotected for Texier in this draft class. Trading the 1st unprotected was already imprudent by Florida. Middle 6 forwards dont go for that kinda price especially when teams are capped out. Mtl loved Rem Pitlick but didnt have the space to Qualify him. Not giving away a 1st and 4th just because

Even though I love Texier, montreal wont trade a first for him. I do not think theyll trade florida's first at all but if they do its gonna be in a package for a bigger fish like Dubois for exemple. dont think its gonna happen

That's the sort of return it'd take for me to be happy with moving Texier, but it's not happening.
