MTL is better off to retain 2M on one player(you can only retain on 2 players at once)

FLA is too much unless Weegar is extended

Ya I agree that the jets could get a better player out of a dubois trade but I think with this trade the jets could be a very good well rounded team and possibly the best bottom 6 in the league. But it all depends on if the jets can sign kadri or not

NJ doesn't have minutes for Schmidt ... and then there's that contract. That sweetener would have to be something special. Can't see it. Maybe another team?

Hate it from a Montreal perspective. They won't be retaining.

Devils pass, they can't take on more salary, their D is fine, just leaving a LHD spot for a prospect to take.

Devils would only have the need for Schmidt if they move out one, maybe two, dmen.
Maybe after 2022-23 season as both Graves and Severson are UFAs.
But with our pipeline, I think that would be unlikely too.

They also won't give anything close to this even before retention

Montreal says no immediately.

Seems like no one quite understands how hockey deals work in Winnipeg.

PLD wants out of Winnipeg.
PLD wants to sign for the Habs in 2024.
Who has the upper hand here?

Habs have no rush. You think Montreal will destroy their assets for PLD?

Be a bit realistic.

Wait and see what the trade is like and see how ridiculous that trade idea is. You value PLD -- to Montreal WAY too much. He's not Eichel. Not even close. He won't fetch that much.
Do you think the Habs would trade Dach, Dvorak AND Anderson for Patrik Laine?
No they wouldn't.
I would bet every single penny I own that the Habs would NEVER offer that much for just a single overvalued player who wants to play for them anyway.

Ridiculous.
