Canes aren’t moving Jarvis. Ehlers is great but Jarvis is a top 6 guy already at 19/20 years old and on an ELC for two more years with a ton of team control. No thanks.

To me the deal is Holtz and a 1st for Connor.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I'd do that deal if I'm NJ.
40 goal scorer, bona fide top-line wing for Hughes, 4 years of team control on an awesome contract.

Is wheeler an upgrade on Johansen? Sure

Is he such an upgrade that Nashville would trade two of its top prospects to upgrade? No

DeMelo does nothing for Nashville which already has 6 NhL caliber dmen.

Nashville wouldn’t pay for retention since it would have the capspace with a wheeler for Johansen swap
