Pierre-Luc Dubois

Created by: LIRIK
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 18, 2022
Published: Jul. 18, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Barron : This one hurt, but MTL gotta give something to get Dubois.
Dvorak : Replace PLD as a 2C.
Hoffman : Cap dump, MTL need cap space to sign Dubois.
2nd : MTL could give FLO 2023 1st top 10 protected, but if it's top 10, MTL would have to give their 2024 1st, which could also be top 10 pick. Scary.

WIN get a needed RHD top prospect, a high pick (33-37) in a very deep draft, and two top 9 players who could be flipped for picks at a later TDL.

MTL get PLD, and only quality piece they lose is Barron. I know Dvorak and that 2nd have value, but i don't care.

Why is WPG taking a cap dump to gift you PLD? Would rather send PLD to ARI for a half eaten Wendy's burger than to entertain an awful Habs trade offer.

I can't see Winnipeg doing that and not getting a 1st or getting any compensation for taking Hoffman as a dump.

They'd likely just wait until next summer.

Jets say no. Not fair value. If PLD and Pat Brisson have been communicating with Ken Holland to try and force their way to Montreal it will be interesting to see what happens. I am not an expert on tampering by any means, but this seems like a scenario where the league may have to step in.

I think a PLD trade has to start with an unprotected 2023 1st.

Canadians won’t be able to bully Chevy. These rumors are beyond ridiculous.

Could add a mid round pick to take Hoffman, but MTL have to dump 8M in cap space before that trade happen.

Giving a top 10 protected 1st is scary for the Habs. 2023 draft is so good, MTL 2023 1st is more valuable than a late 2022 1st.

Giving Barron hurts, he's our only RHD top prospect.

Meh nice player but that as a headliner for a PLD trade is nothing special at all

As a fan of hockey, that doesn't hurt. And isn't nearly enough of a return for WPG to even consider it.

If we’re thinking about this situation logically, Chevy wants a player Montreal has 0 interest in moving. Who could that be? Suzuki? Caufield? Slaf? I’m not sure but either way jets aren’t just going to roll over and give PLD to the habs for a deal like this. I’d argue he’s worth more than this to a desperate contender at the TDL giving them 2 playoff runs with him.

The first I would imagine is non-negotiable, so you would have to add Florida's first in 23.

Winnipeg is already doing Montreal a favour by trading Dubois at a discount in your trade, so Montreal's cap issues are their problem, not Winnipeg's.

If you want Winnipeg to help you out by taking Hoffman as a dump, add another first minimum for a 2 year dump. If that price is too high then you're free to move Hoffman elsewhere for a "mid pick."

Arizona didn't get a 1st in the Ghostisbehere dump. Why should WPG expect different?
