The leafs are not moving nylander for a defender. They need another top 6 forward, not less of them

CBJ can't be your cap dump destination for Wood, we're already trying to shed salary.

can do it with or without the wood move...honestly thought a team like CBJ could use someone like wood in the bottom 6 (plays hard, assistant captain here)...I know the injuries still out there

We had enough forwards to ice two full NHL teams and were going on and on about how we can't possibly afford to add any more forwards unless we're getting a legit superstar. Then we got a legit superstar. Now the situation is even more absurd.

Wood would be competing with something more than a dozen different guys for an NHL fourth line roster spot. It's not tenable for either him or the Jackets.
