Kapanen for Puljujarvi is the only one of these that actually helps the Penguins, and it isn't reasonable for Edmonton.
I find it hard to believe either Milano or ERod would accept those offers. Heinen took a discount, but that doesn't mean either of them will.

Why would EDM make this trade?

Because Puljujarvi’s trade value is a 3rd round pick rn (around the league, not my opinion…I value him higher) and Kapanen is a speed player that will help EDM keep the pace against teams like COL. I would say that was their major weakness in that series. EDM had the top end players that could keep up, but their depth was not fast enough to keep the pace COL was setting, and Kapanen can help improve that.

EDM gets a worse player making more money for a longer term. I just don't see the reason of doing this 1 for 1. Pens have to add for sure

Edmonton's 3rd line was their best line against Colorado: Foegele - McLeod - Puljujarvi. In that series Jesse actually led the team in CF% (60.29), SF% (51.28), xGF% (64.55), HDCF% (76.92) and was 2nd in SCF% (62.07) among forwards who played at least 5 minutes.

Kapanen won't be an improvement on that.
