Youd have to pay a lot more than 11.5M to outbid the Avs by enough to convince MacKinnon to leave

With Lehner on LTIR, and a 20 man roster. One short term injury and you wouldn’t even be able to ice a full roster. Also, if Mackinnon goes to free agency, he’ll get better offers. Tavares got 11 mil when the cap was lower, and he was never on Mackinnons level.

This isn’t a super team, this is one that has no cap space. Kane wouldn’t sign that either. Lehner isn’t just going to go on LtIR because you need more room. A 20 player roster is not feasible in the NHL.

Okay I made some edits; and ppl shock the world sometimes. Don't think Kane will make much more than this tbh unless he plays for a team on the cusp. A lot of the GOOD teams dont have much cap. With the recession, I dont see the cap soaring like some ppl think

Lehner needs hip surgery ... and gets injured all the time. My bet is he will LTIRetired and pull a Ben Bishop sometime before his contract is up
