Remove the fluff just make it simple with coronato zary 2023 unprotected first and we'll take Monahan and 2024 second for stanley

That’s only one valid reason but it really isn’t valid because there are a lot of forwards who aren’t good defensively.

I think it’s fine for Calgary that they lose value at positions of strength, so they can keep some of their better future assets. I’d maybe substitute a first with a prospect but I don’t exactly know their values. And Calgary is a win now team so getting a few pieces like Appleton, Stanley, and Harkins back makes them better.

Too much stuff moving and not much chance the Jets move Scheifele with Dubois' future up in the air. The Jets likely don't consider taking back Monahan either.

What is the actual point in arguing a forward’s defensive game when he puts up a point per game. Yeah for sure no team would ever want Scheifele because of his defensive game. It could be a negative to his game but it can’t outweigh how many points he puts up.

it does when theres centers that put up similar offenive numbers if not slightlty worse but better on d, makes him less valuable

I know but my point is his defensive game is not a deal breaker.

I’m a Scheifele defender and would love to add him but can we please stop pretending Backlund isn’t worthy of being a 2C? And we have a bigger gap at RW
