Description

Big trade with cbj, taking on Voraceks contract to make money work and maximize value
Every Miller trade on here is played out now but it’s mid august and what else is there to do but speculate. Any team that lands Miller (or van if he re-signs) will be lucky to have a player like that on the roster

Sens trade I saw posted on here earlier, think Van would have to accept to get those assets for myers even if it means taking on zaitsev for 2 seasons (at least he’s a righty)

Dump poolman if possible, Dickinson could rebound and work on the 4th line but if someone will take him then make the move

Cap space to use on our FAs next year and possibly bring in someone like Severson if he hits free agency.

Voracek’s contract is going to take A LOT to dump. He’s a solid player but that contract for 2 more years 😬

Myers is a much better player than Zaitsev. This move seems unlikely but I know Van wouldn’t move myers to take on cap AND retain

I agree. Honestly didn’t know what else to add without being flooded with No’s from blue jackets fans

I like the idea of having to take on cap to help move jt and get a good return , but if we're giving up jt and taking on that salary, starting point is Kent johnston

If Vancouver could work a deal out to land Johnson in a Miller trade I would be unbelievably happy

Good thing for Columbus there's no pressure to move Voracek. Johnson's as untouchable as Quinn Hughes for you guys.

It's also the ending point. Nothing Vancouver has would entice us to give up KJ. Or Sillinger. Or Jiricek. Heck, even asking for Cuelemans is a stretch.

The thing is, Miller really only makes sense for us as a rental, for all the same reasons why y'all hesitate to extend him. So there's very little appetitite to pay "long term core player" type prices.

Zaitsev is a straight cap dump. Myers isn’t, even though he is overpaid by 1.5-2M. 2nd to dump Zaitsev, and then Myers + 3rd for Brannstrom, although that is maybe not completely fair

Still wouldn’t do this as the Canucks though since we are downgrading our weakest position while adding another smaller LHD which is not needed
