Honestly Think this team adding Kane and Toews will cancel out the question mark of the Net much like Kadri,s career year did last year. But is it worth what would probably have to be given up.

Avs can't afford to give up assets for rentals and guys like Sedlak and Englund shouldn't be on the roster

Seeing Byram, MacKinnon, Newhook, Kaut, Helm all on the last years of their deal is scary.

Devon Toews for a rental? Absolutely not. I wouldn’t do Toews for Kane even straight up

What would be a fair trade? Just did it to make cap space. CHI will probably take anything. I see them trading for J Toews but not kane

Devon Toews is the most valuable piece in either of those deals. Hes a top 15 D man in the league on a fantastic contract for 2 years

how does making the team worse defensively in trading Toews a way to in your words "cancel out the question mark in net"

This makes that much worse,

They are not trading Toews, sorry my man there is 0 way they are trading makars partner and arguably a top 10 Dman in the league
They have 0 interest in J Toews either, avs are heavily analytically inclined and Toews has fallen off a map defensively the last few years.

Unless J Toews is forcing his way to Denver and basically given for free, avs are not barking up that trade tree

I wouldn’t do Devon Toews for Kane straight up much less adding a pick. Johnathon Toews is washed he isn’t worth a fraction of that. So awful.

The one piece you definitely wouldn't get there is Annunen and Colorado showed a marked reluctance to give up the 23 1st as well. Change the 1st to 24 and switch Annunen out and I'd think you might have a deal, though it could be a Selanne & Kariya type backfire for the Avs.
