Giving contracts like that to Dach, a completely unproven player is exactly how Montreal got into this mess.

Montreal is in this mess as they didn't know how to build around C's and then signed depth "character guys" like Armia too much.

But yeah that's a really stupid deal for dach

Why not shine up monahan and try to get a pick out of him at the deadline, I’m sure a retained healthy monahan might get you a pick from somewhere, or bury him in pressbox til he walks.

I’m sure Columbus will need some bargain, best buddy to gaudreau Center depth for a playoff push, especially if most of his money all ready done. This trade could turn into quite a haul if they can manufacture another first out of it.

For nothing!!! this Monahan deal was good business. One gets Kadri other gets a centre too and paid in a first minimum to due so

Are you talking about a Nyquist dump possibility?

No just a general statement, everybody gets excited and try’s to load up without selling the farm come play off time. Columbus may need a short term vet to go with Johnson and sillinger. Depending on standings and injuries

I wonder if he is trying to pick his perfect cup run team, probably has his money, possibly a shot at more glory, Edmonton rumours still around. Not sure where he will end up. Hired gun probably worth it for a contender

Maybe let the team find some momentum and a direction before handing out Captaincy.

He is a iron man, and a vet that produces. Surprised he is still available.

I’m a little surprised also, probably gunning for the perfect fit, if I’m him, I try to get signed up for the minimum in Toronto and lineup beside tavares for a season. Try to finish what you started a few stops ago, and instant legend if you help bring a cup there.

No way he goes back after what happened. They just finally finished the retention on his deal too.

Why in the world would we want Mike Hoffman? Our top 6 are likely to be McTavish - Zegras - Terry and Comtois - Strome - Vatrano, and we still have Henrique, Lundestrom, the inexpensive Max Jones and a host of prospects to try out. Lumbering ourselves with two seasons of Mike Hoffman would be a massive step backwards and into the way of our developing youngsters.

Ducks are going to nope out of that deal. Hoffman has been kicked around asking for his cap dump price, why would we pay for him?
