I don't see why Carolina does this. Pesce is a very nice right dmen on a great contract.

Montreal takes this every day but Carolina does not.

Also, I don't see what Dach has done so far in his career to earn 2.5m a year for 2 years. I assume he will get 1.5-2m a year for 2-3 years tops. Time will tell though!

You are crazy if you think this is fair value. Canes would never consider that. Pesce is a premier 2way RHD, whereas Anderson is an overpaid 3rd line winger. Unless Caufield is involved, there is no deal to be had.

Canes counter with Gardiner for Caufield. Value is far closer there

Teams in the NHL were giving away wingers to get cap compliant you don’t actually think a winger that has never had 30 goals or 50pts is going to get a top pairing dman do you?

No need to apologize. All good. Pesce does play on the second pairing, but he's actually good enough to play top pairing. Canes have just been that deep on D for a while.
