Trades and Cap Dumps

Created by: GMtommyhawk
Team: 2022-23 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 22, 2022
Published: Aug. 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
-Trades made with the the idea that Athanasiou/Domi increase their value playing in the top 6.

-The Colorado trade is a hypothetical situation that Toews has a bounce back season and reaffirms himself as a top C. Entwistle is also a good bottom-six piece that’s signed into next season.

-I’m iffy on the cap dump returns especially since they have term to them, so please let me know if they’re fair at all.

1. Oilers decline. A Kane trade would look like. 1-2 first rounders a 2nd round pick. A prospect and a solid roster player. Expect 50% RS and who knows, maybe they get an additional 3rd round pick.
2. Avs decline. A Toews trade would look like. A first and a second round pick. A prospect and expect 50% RS.
3. No need to RS for Domi. No way Domi is worth a second round pick. He’s worth a third.
4. Stillman is one of the best d-man on the hawks.
5. Athanasiou trade is fine
6. Sens are trying to put Zaitsev in the Chychrun trade
7. So since you have Holl leaving do you have Sandin resigning even though the conversations have turned to pure stone.
8. Stars aren’t trading a solid 3rd line C and a 1st round pick for hella nothing.

At this point in his career, Toews is not worth that much

Toews isn’t the answer for anybody especially at that ridiculous price.

Kyle Davidson's brief history hasn't really shown that he has the ability to pull off these optimistic returns. After the debrincat trade we're better off expecting as little as possible from him. It'll save us the disappointment when he trades Kane half retained for barrie and a 2nd.

Literally EVERY trade is an overpayment. Like, every single one.
