He sounds like me before Ottawa acquired Debrincat . I was so desperate for a winger. The difference is Ottawa never had a Holtz level prospect

The value of Holtz's ELC cap hit cannot be understated. Devils don't do this.

Thanks for coming out buddy! I'm very excited to see Tatar and Wood in the top 6 next year. Believe it or not you actually have to give up some value to bring in quality players.

Rental top 4 D, top prospect, depth guy, and a 2nd is not ridiculous at all.

A low cap hit means nothing if he's not an impact player. We'll be lucky if Holtz is anywhere near as good as Nylander.

Quality player means nothing if he walks in two years. Fitz wouldn't do this without Nylander having a long term extension in place

Mercer, Holtz, Sharangovich, Zetterlund, Gritsyuk, Foote…let ‘em grow into it. Wingers should always be the final pieces. If we get to one Knee-Lander away, I will be right there with you.

Is Ottawa "one DeBrincat" away? Is L.A "one Fiala" away? No. But they added them and their teams are much better because of it.

If not now, when? Strong up the middle with Hughes and Hischier, good middle 6 wingers, some experience, very nice D core, Vanecek and Blackwood tandem will be hit or miss but if they can be not-terrible things are looking okay there, very young roster, ample cap space and assets to make a big move. A young point-per-game goal scoring winger to play with our 20 year old franchise C would be very high on my priority list.
