Kyle Davidson will get a far better offer than that for Patrick Kane, A cap dump worthless prospects late picks.

And Arizona isn't retaining $2,625,000 on Kane for a cap dumb and 2 worthless picks.

FYI it would take more than a 3rd and 5th round pick to move Warren Foegele out of Edmonton, Let alone with Arizona retaining on Kane as well.

its only 750k of actual salary az would have to pay, if they removed foegele from that trade it would probably get it done.

The reality of the situation is that Kane will control his future, if he wants to come to Edmonton, Kyle Davidson is going to take whatever he can get or he can let Kane walk for nothing in free agency

A 2nd and 4th was all it took to move Kassian and Kassian gets paid more while being borderline useless production wise, Arizona only has to take roughtly 750k in actual salary, getting 2 picks and a player to help you tank is a perfectly fine trade to take on that

I totally agree, Patrick Kane does control his own future. All the more reason he's played his entire career in the States he's an American. So why would he want to go to Edmonton they're not winning a cup with him far too many better cup teams out there than Edmonton? It makes far more sense for him to go home to New York and play for the Rangers than Edmonton.

This sounds like an excuse for “my team has nothing to offer, but we still want Patrick Kane”

I'd say Rangers. Something like Kakko, Kravstov, 1st, 2nd. Maybe more. I don't know. Rangers are up against the Cap. Double retention might be needed. I'd love to see Kane reunited with Panarin again.

Same here, I see Kane to the Rangers long before the Oilers. Kane with Breadman would be pretty lethal.

That's a hell of a price to pay for a 3rd pair defenseman. Gross.

The reality of the situation is Kane has a very good relationship with the Hawks and realizes his value to multiple teams. He's not going to pigeonhole the Hawks into 1 team....highly highly unlikely. Especially since he has said multiple times he wants to work for the Hawks after his career.

Furthermore, at the top of his list is likely the Rangers to be fair as well, not the Oilers and the Leafs are probably the top Canadian team if he's willing to go to Canada (which is a big IF) not the Oilers.

So the point is, if you really think there's a possibility of Kane waiving for the Oilers, I'm willing to bet a lot of money there will be multiple teams in on him thus making this proposal not a shot in hell of happening.
