Description
Just trying something different & know Dallas fans will hate it, as Hintz is likely untouchable but Ill try anyway ... taking Faksa's contract opens cap space for Robertson signing & Severson offers immediate help at RD. Holtz, Mukhamadullin, Foote and the first round pick bring long term prospect value to offset aging Seguin, Benn, Pavelski core ... ok, let me have it Dallas.

Texas sized 10-4 they hate that. I hate it for them. It's not the value. It's just a player they won't move.

hintz gone would suck but having a u24 forward core of robertson/ holtz/ bourqe/stankoven/ johnston would be very good.
aswell as additional pieces like damiani/ martino/ stranges/ dellandrea/ foote

Roope Hintz is a natural Center, And no Fitzgerald isn't giving him $8,000,000+ to play 3C in New Jersey.

I understand, but he'd be a perfect compliment to Hughes imo. They would be unbelievable together.

I agree but had to try. NJ fans would hate this, but after I submitted I thought a better (more fair) package would be Mercer, Holtz & Severson. Maybe a waste of some of Hintz attributes, but I think next to Hughes it could be dynamic ... While Mercer & Holtz would offer better long term value on cheap contracts than my first submission

new jersey is in an intriguing spot now with their rebuild. does this move actually help them long term? especially losing holtz plus severson for this season. not sure how high people are on foote anymore. id think for this year itd be a bit unnecessary as NJD has a lot of serviceable LW and of course you have to pay hintz next season, although a lot of money is also being freed up

I don't think DAL will ever entertain the possibility of trading Hintz at his prime, but it's not the worst offer I've seen.

I think Foote and Mukhamadullin would need to be replaced by a NHL ready center to make it more enticing for DAL. Mercer or something like that.

All fair Questions ...
Severson is in walk year, he is likely replaced next year by Nemec or if he's not ready, another year of Walsh (Luke Hughes also arrives next season to replace Graves)

Cap could get sticky, with Bratt and Hintz (in this scenario) needing contracts but Tatar, Bernier, Johnsson, Wood, Haula come off at season end ... Most of core signed up decent term, except Sharangovich and of course, they still need a strong netminder. If Mercer is not in this trade, then things get real tight, but quite frankly, that's a high quality problem (when you have too many good players to sign)

Losing Holtz would just be a cost of doing business. You have to give to get & Hintz is a better fit for what NJ needs right now imo. He bring needed size on the wing (understand he's 1C in Dallas) and proven NHL level scoring. Holtz still has to show us he can do it. Hintz next to Hughes could score 50 imo perennially. Hughes would love him & I suspect it would be mutual. For me, it would be worth it for NJ.

Foote NJ fans still have hope for ... I'm skeptical. I just think he will prove to be too slow to play the Style NJ is going for. Just my opinion... I'm sure others will disagree

Honestly to get a player with Hintz's skill set, NJ should stretch. He's exactly what the Dr ordered.

I thought of Mercer right after submitting... If I did earlier, I would have went Mercer, Holtz & Severson. That would make NJ fans nervous, but I think it's fair for the very reason you say. NJ would have to force Dallas' hand .... Taking on that crap Faksa contract helps too I think.

Why would NJ fans hate this? You’re literally throwing a bunch of mid level pieces at Dallas saving give me your elite top line center. Even if Hintz was for sale, do you really think you’re getting him while keeping Nemec???
