Durzi is actually a good idea for the Sens. I hadn’t thought of that. I feel like it’d take more, but it’s a fun thing to roll with.

Los Angeles has 14 forwards under contract right now plus Rasmus Kupari and Alex Turcotte, so Formenton isn't on our wish list. Moreover, we'll probably only trade Sean Durzi for help at LhD, our primary need.

Your hopes are denied by LA. Very unlikely we move Spence or Durzi unless something incredible is coming back.

No disrespect to Formenton who sounds very promising, but I don’t think this would be the right deal for LA. I have a theory that we’re not in a hurry to sign Durzi to a contract if it’s not team friendly at this point since it would give Brandt Clarke the chance to play a handful of games before they have to make a decision to send him to the OHL. It’s not ideal for Durzi to miss training camp, but this route would be an option to see where they’re at with Clarke. So bottom line, unless it’s for an overpayment that makes cap sense, I don’t see Durzi moving.

Isn't Formenton one of the kids from the WJ team that's under a ton of scrutiny right now?

Yeahhh.... No.

While the Hawks probably accept this deal, I have a counter-offer of Murphy for Zaitsev, the 2023 1st (top 10 protection) and a 3rd (whenever).

Ottawa gets a top 4 defensive defenseman, gets rid of Zaitsev and has a slight increase in cap space (100K)!

Chicago gets a desperately needed 1st, and gets value out of Murphy since he won't really help with the tank.

I think it makes sense for both teams.

Paying Lodin and a 2nd to dump 7 M$ is a bit too much for me. I'd rather send him to the AHL and wait next off-season

Formenton (if innocent) is absolutely that.

22 y/o, scored 13 ES and 5 SH goals, no PP time.

Mean streak, elite speed, already good defensively

The Kings are set offensively for the most part, and we have lots of young kids trying to make the lineup.

Their need is an established top-4 LD or an amazing goalie prospect. Our previous need was top-line scoring and we used Faber to get that, I imagine we'll be looking for something similar for our other areas of need.

I guess my prior comment didn’t age well. Good cap hit for Durzi in my opinion.

I was specifically talking about Forms trade value but if considering needs, then we might not be good trading partners because Sens can't afford to trade Sogaard, particularly now with Gustavsson gone

Regarding LD, Chabot is a stud and Holden is a good veteran stop gap but the rest is pretty much in development.

Sanderson is a pure rookie. Brannstrom put up 27 pts in his last 83 GP at 21-22 y/o but his game is still a work in progress, so not "established" as you'd need

There is also a few very good projects (Kleven, Hamara, Nordberg, etc) but none is close to NHL ready
