The right side would be fine with Hughes on it

Still not good. Myers, Dermott, and Schenn don't make the rosters of a decent amount of teams. Neither OEL or Hughes are shutdown guys.

From what I was hearing today on a local Vancouver podcast it doesn't sound like Hughes will be playing the right side fulltime, sounds more like spot duty.

Sounds like they are going to start him there and and see where it goes, I have a hard time believing that he would be practicing on the Right side all summer for him to just to play it situationally

I think it was Dhaliwal, could be wrong as I listened to a few different podcasts today, who was saying he's going to start the preseason on the right side to get comfortable but it was more likely he ends up playing spot duty once the regular season starts. Sounds like he'll likely play the right side in certain situations, such as when the team is down a goal late in the game and they want two offensive D on the ice. I hope he can make a full time transition though, that would be a big help for this team.

Myers, Dermott, and Schenn ABSOLUTELY make the rosters of just about any other team. I honestly don't understand where these dumb takes are coming from

Might cost us our chance of getting Hughes or Podkolzin

they’d probably ask for podkolzin back. or an A tier prospect in your system.

They probably would, that's why Chychrun doesn't make any sense for the Canucks

Everything always goes perfectly in Canuck land so he likely will be the Norris winner on his weak side

It's not even much better than it was. Chychrun isn't half as good as anyone thinks on here. OEL is declining and your bottom 3 defenders are all at best 3rd pair players or 7/8 defenceman in the case of Schenn. It's still a weak Blueline with potential to get way worse if OEL takes another step down the decline road.

Weird cause OEL had a bounce back season and playing with Hughes this year will counite to his success even more, OEL would have been 2nd on the leafs this year for Defensemen points. OEL has not showed signs of a decline in Vancouver. in a couple years? sure, how ever he still has at least 3 good seasons ahead of him, as for Chychrun He is a pretty good Dman your eastern bias is showing here, lol i love that you still bring Schenn into this YOU LOVE to diss him any chance you get because he is better then Holl

Dermott does not make most NHL rosters coming from a Leafs fan who has watched him a lot.
