    Boston does not even consider.

Will trade Nosek for late pick or low prospect or even future considerations.

Might trade Smith for a 3rd…maybe.

No interest at all in Looch. Bs have as much interest in him as you do Foligno. Less actually.

Other than Matheson and Edmundson (who's out indefinitely), can you name any that have played more than 25 NHL Games and are ready for Full-Time NHL Duties!?

MTL is a 2-3 years away from guys like Harris, Guhle, Xhekaj, Trudeau or Struble being ready for Full-Time Time NHL action. Rushing their development by just throwing them to the Wolves would not be a wise decision. Obtaining a Young 2LD and a Couple Slovak Prospects (to help their newest Future Star Draft Picks in Slafkovsky & Mesar feel more comfortable and at home) in exchange for an older pending UFA + undersized Centre Prospect who's 2-3 years away from playing in the NHL would though

Maybe, maybe not. I don't necessarily disagree with you, but the players might want/like Looch back, so it could be a Team Moral type move

BOS could use a better 4C, so I offered local guy Rooney, an extra RD for depth (if Stralman doesn't work out or gets injured), so I offered Desimone and a cheap Winger to replace Smith, so I offered Milano. CGY doesn't want Nosek either, hence why I flipped him to ARI, but we could use a Physical and Defensively Sound RW in Smith and a Cheaper Version and Future Replacement for Lucic, hence AJ Greer

Why does playing more than 25 games matter, Guhle and Xhekaj are proving in training camp that they are both ready for the NHL (especially Guhle) also since Harris has NHL experience as does Barron they too may make the roster. Habs management has already said they are not focused on winning games this year, this year is all about development even at the NHL level. To be quite frank, Montreal is not interested in another bottom pairing D man and may be moving towards the idea of running a top 4 of Guhle-Savard and Matheson-Harris even after Eddy returns.

As I was trying to elude too, skipping & rushing a players development is not recommended. Allowing them more time to grow & fill out (both physically & mentally) = gain strength & confidence and then easing them in to the NHL is usually the way to go. There are exceptions, like Top-5 Draft Picks, otherwise and especially with Defensemen, it takes time for Prospects to be ready for Full-Time NHL action

There's a HUGE difference between playing against Boys in Junior to playing with Much Bigger, Faster and Stronger Men in the NHL

Boston has Studnicka and Beecher battling for roster spots, both centers, both better options than Nosek or Rooney.

Bs have 8 d men under contract plus Stralman. Plus Carrick they have to put through waivers. They don’t need to add more.

The only thing Boston needs to do is move a couple of players for picks/prospects/nothing.

They have to many players for to few spots and none are waiver exempt for Beecher.

They don’t need to add players.

Looch Is a liability no matter how you want try to sell it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The most valuable piece in that package is Milano and Bs could have had him for nothing. The rest is garbage. I would not give up one of Bostons pieces for the entire package. Nosek for Desimone. Sure. You can claim him back when Boston puts him on waivers. Other than that it’s just terrible for Boston.

No team that wants to compete can carry 6.5m of cap hit towards Foligno and Looch.

Tell that to the guys Guhle and Xhekaj have been laying out over the last week or two! Guhle is NHL ready. He is already bigger and faster than Kylington, his mental strength is there as well as he makes better decisions both with and without the puck than both Harris and Barron who have NHL experience as well. If you don't think he is NHL ready check out the highlights from the game last night vs the Jets. He scored the opening goal and the Jets had Samberg, Schmitt, Appleton and Gustafsson on and Hinola was coming back into the play from the box. Those aren't exactly jr players there. Sure it is the preseason and that isn't going to be the Jets normal PK but they are all NHL players (with the exception of Hinola).

    https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/video/guhle-nets-opening-goal/t-277443720/c-12894393?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=CHCcontent&utm_content=EN-0929-WPG@MTL-Guhle1

Also take a look at who he pins along the boards at the 3:47 mark of the following video. The end result is still a goal off a deflection for the Jets but he had his man and the breakdown came from a lack of support from the forwards in the board battle. The Jets forward (without the puck) comes in and digs the puck out but Guhle still does his job pinning Dubois along the borads.

Ghule is not just NHL ready, he's already top 4. I agree for the others.

Anyway, Kylington also plays RD so he could still be usefull.

BTW, if a player's biggest quality is his passeport, he must not be very good wink

Thanks for the comment and for taking the time to source & share the highlights!

Don't get me wrong, I know Guhle is an Excellent Player. I live in Edmonton and have seen him Play Live a few times and think he will be a Great NHL Player, but with only 2 Pre-Season games under his belt (one good and one really nothing special), I'm not satisfied he's ready for the Speed and Skill of a regular season NHL game. He may be gifted with size already, but I wouldn't say he's necessarily faster than Kylington and although you didn't say he did, without the experience, he's not a better decision maker than Kylington

The risk is him being eaten alive out there and losing confidence in his game. Just my opinion of course, but also pretty standard for players to play in the AHL first to learn their Teams system and continue to develop towards being NHL Ready. I have the same opinion of OTT's Jake Sanderson. It's just very rare a player can jump from Junior to the NHL, especially as a D-Man

I don't think so, but I'm happy to be wrong and wish Guhle all the success in the world. Good Point on Kylington being usable/serviceable at RD as well

Ruzicka's a stud hockey player with Great Size, Offensive Skills, Visions Instincts and Prospisil is a Very Hard Working, Defensively Responsible, Checking Winger with Offensive Skill as well, so being Slovakian wouldn't be their sole, biggest or only quality. They're both decent prospects who have substantially more experience & time playing in North America and would simply help Slafkovsky & Mesar adjust to being & playing in a new country they're not familiar with. It could be a big reason why Slaf has been underwhelming in Training Camp thus far. Yes, only 18 and leaving your friends & family to play overseas is a very big challenge without having friends & familiarity to assist you in the transition. I think MTL should look to bring Tomas Tatar back too tbh.

In any event, MTL's looking to load up on Young Skilled Talent in exchange for Veteran's and I don't necessarily want to lose Ruzicka, but if Sutter isn't planning to use him, I'd much rather see him get an opportunity elsewhere and help us bring in a player we will use and could help us take the next step in Dadonov should he return to the same form he showed previously when playing with Huberdeau. I'd consider Drouin too, but he's a much bigger gamble and we really don't know whether he's healthy and can contribute a full season, whereas I have much more faith Dadonov can & will rebound in CGY

This is BOS's final season to contend before the Team gets torn apart or a major facelift imo

Studnicka's not very good and hasn't lived up to his Draft Pedigree and Beecher likely needs more time in the AHL before he's ready to assume full-time NHL duties.

Of the 8 D-Men you have, 2 are injured. Carrick is an option, but hasn't been very good in the NHL, hence why they brought Stralman in on a PTO. DeSimone isn't the best option CGY could offer, but he's been pretty impressive in Training Camp, so might be of interest to BOS as additional injury coverage and insurance

My proposal had us helping you with Nosek by taking him off your hands and providing you with a proven 4C and Excellent Penalty Killer in Rooney, since he might have been beaten out in training Camp by Lewis & Eakin, but figuring out what to do with Foligno would still be your guys' problem. All contenders like to have a Big Physical Enforcer & Intimidator like Lucic, especially for the Playoffs. He's negative value at $5.25mil/yr for sure, but at $2.625mil he has value and can still contribute offensively. Sure he's slower and isn't the best defensively, but I wouldn't consider Lucic, nor any of the players I've proposed for that matter "garbage"

Pretty Sure BOS was interested in Milano, but weren't able to land him. For whatever reason he chose CGY as his PTO destination, but I'm not impressed by him and if he won't make the Flames, why not broker a deal to have him go to the Bruins. Might be good for the player and a way BOS ensures they land him this time

For whatever reason he chose CGY as his PTO destination, but I'm not impressed by him and if he won't make the Flames, why not broker a deal to have him go to the Bruins. Might be good for the player and a way BOS ensures they land him this time

Well we’ll see about it being their final year. That goes out the window with a couple resignings. Boston ownership will not allow a tear down anyway.

Nothing here helps them contend this year. Nothing.

Studnicka along with Greer and Beecher have been the standout forwards in camp/pre season and has likely won not only roster spot but a full time role to start the year ahead of Nosek.

The only thing I agree with. Nosek needs to go. And Rooney is the same player he is. Don’t need him either.

Desimone would be 10th on the depth chart at best. No need.

Boston was never tied to Milano. Their top 9 wings were set from the start with no room for Lysell to break in.

Foligno 82 game pace last year was 16 points 210 hits. How is that any different than Looch who had 21 and 209 in 82? He is also better skater and better defensively. I’d rather Foligno of the two and he’s garbage, saying Looch is not is burying your head in the sand. 50% retained he’s still a cap liability.

You don't have to sell me on Kylington, I like him as a player. He kind of reminds me of a younger Brett Kulak. After further consideration I think this deal would work but only as an insurance policy for Harris and Barron on the right side. I am not worried about Guhle, he will be fine and if he struggles a bit can be sheltered some on the 3rd pairing. Getting Kylington could allow us to run Harris on his strong side. We wouldn't have a true top pair this year but Matheson-Savard, Guhle-Kylington, Harris-Wideman would make 3 decent pairings.

What do you mean? What don't you like or doesn't make sense to you?

CGY would reunite Huberdeau & Dadonov, hoping their previous chemistry leads to 28+ Goals and 70+ Points

CGY brings in a Cheaper Younger version of Lucic and a Defensively Responsible Right Shot Veteran who can also Contribute Offensively and still have cap space available next season to help pay Huberdeau's new contract

Kylington is both a LD (a position MTL doesn't really need unless it's a legit top pairing guy, which he isn't) and a UFA after 2 seasons, so that hampers his value in a trade to MTL, who won't be competitive in that time frame, his value is basically what MTL think they can flip him for next deadline. Ruzicka is yet another bottom 6 forward, and MTL has too many forwards as is. Pospisil is a dime a dozen prospect, no real value other than his nationality. In a vacuum it's an alright trade for MTL, but they would be better off keeping Mysak and getting picks or a higher quality prospect for Dadonov.
