what opening night lines should be at the moment

Description
As of right now, I truly believe that Brad Lambert should be given the opportunity to start out with the Jets. In my opinion he should stay up until he shows that he doesn't fit in the NHL, and to this point he has shown way more than that. On the backend, I truly don't think any defenceman in particular has run away for the last job available (Heinola, Samberg, Stanley) So in my opinion at the moment they should lean towards the transition savvy, offensive leaning defenceman on a team that has struggled to generate offensive from the back end in recent years.

Moose lines:
Torgersson-Lucius-Stenlund
Toninato-Eyssimont-Reichel
Malott-Nikkanen-Polei
Limoges-Bongiovanni-Meirelles

Looking forward to a ehlers/perfetti/lambert, could be a wild line in the future.

Barron is waivers exempt and should be sent down to play big minutes. Just keep Toni up as the PB guy with Harkins. I agree Heinola should get the opportunity over Samberg and Stanley, especially with how Bowness wants his D to play. But like Bones said today, it’ll come down to the last couple games, guys will play their way off the team, or play their way onto the team.

Lambert is a guy who probably gets sent down, but is a call up if there’s a top 6 injury. He’ll likely get his 9 games at the end of the year. Unless Bowness really likes what he sees.

That line makes me very very excited. Ehlers and lamberts skating with Perfettis play making and vision is very intriguing.

Too bad, that Dubois wasn’t keen on Winnipeg, could be a split wheelers money between scheifele/Dubois/helly and hopefully keep building. Top 6 looking a bunch better if there is a couple rookie of the year candidates in the next two seasons. Still a need for more depth, but some steps in the right direction.

I’m still holding onto hope that Dubois is taking a realistic approach to the potential of staying in Winnipeg. If things go well this year and he plays very well, along with team success or even improvements in the youth. I could see him considering staying. Also $ talks.

I just wonder if there’s a mean girl wheeler/scheifele complex going on or a split room with a need of Lowry/wheeler/scheifele exit. But all speculation and will be interesting on benefit of veteran coach in bowness. Will be interesting year, and hopefully bring on a firesale or a double down on current nucleus. How deep this draft is, would love a top 10 pick.

I think wheeler is moved at some point this year. Probably scheifele too if the jets suck. Hellebuyck as well.

Just build around Ehlers, Connor, Perfetti, Lambert, Pionk, Morrissey.

Jets need a top goalie prospect bad.

Next two drafts would love a couple wheatkings, bjarnson goalie and danielson center, but probably both will end up In different places. Benson for ice could be kind of interesting also.

Benson would be pretty cool. Jets need a good goalie in the pipelines, add some more F depth in the cupboards.

Am thinking the same thing about Barron, let him play big minutes at center with the Moose, need to stop converting centers to wingers! He can be first callup if injuries hit and/or come up later in the season if Gus isn't working out.

Maenelanen should for sure be on the team, Gus should be 4C and see how it goes.

Harkins needs to start producing but so does EVERYONE in that bottom six, its a big year for all those guys except Gagner.
If the likes of Harkins, Appleton, Lowry, Gus, Toninato don't start producing at 3rd and 4th line rates they need to be moved on from, enough of this unproductive bottom six garbage that just wastes time.

That second line has liability written all over it. I can't see Lambert sticking. Appleton/Wheeler will move up and Harkins/Barron will rotate in and out on the 4th line.

Noa Vali is a good goalie prospect. I have him in the top 20 on my rankings. Nate Danielson is a guy I feel like Bones will love. Never heard of Bjarnson before, Ill have to look at him.

17 year old opening starter for wheaties, big kid, needs some work on rebound control, held his own against a ice team missing some key contributors, I think he’s going to see a bunch of rubber in next couple seasons and hopefully win some games for wheaties
