Wouldn't Dallas have more interest in kreider? Take Nashville out of the equation all together and it makes more sense. In my opinion it'd be an overpay for the rangers.

I don't think NSH accepts that with how promising Jeannot has looked recently. And neither does Dallas. Kravtsov and M.Robertson are completely useless for them, so with the NSH trade removed this trade is basically Kreider+Othmann+Lundkvist(the amount DAL paid for him) for J.Robertson. Which is a massive L for the Stars.

The value of the Detroit is fine but they have a couple players with almost the same skill set. So they really don't have a need or room for Reaves.

Leafs don't need to make that trade, especially if they're retaining that much

Kreider doesn't waive for Nashville, Nashville doesn't have the salary cap to fit in Kreider.

Jim Nill can get a far better offer for Jason Robertson than this package, Quality for quality. Not quantity for quality.

Detroit trade is fine, but we already basically have similar players within our system. So we pass..

The Stars might very well get a better package than this for Robertson. But, assuming the cap and nmcs and all got figured out, in no way, shape or form would this trade be considered a massive loss for Dallas. That is unless Robertson wakes up as Connor McDavid tomorrow.
I mean Kreider just had 52 goals plus 10 more in the playoffs, add to that Othmann and Lundkvist(if we're thinking about it that way).

    I disagree.

Kreider's 52 goals were certainly impressive, but we gotta note that a staggering amount of 29 of those goals were on the power play. It goes without saying that he massively benefitted of the great Rangers PP. Out of Robertson's 40 goals, only 12 were on the PP, meaning he scored 28 even strength goals compared to Kreider's 23.

Add this to the fact that Robertson is almost 10 years younger than Kreider, and that Kreider wouldn't be getting similar scoring help in Dallas in comparison to Rangers, this would be a massive L. Kreider would likely regress into a 25-30 goal winger in Dallas, with Robo potentially becoming a 55-60 goal scoring winger for Rags.

Othmann and Lundkvist are nice pieces, but not close enough to compensate the value difference between Robo and Kreider.

Leafs would rather trade kerfoot for nothing than retain on him. If we are trading him its cause we want abosultly none of his 3.5 mil cap
