Man have the quality of trade proposals plummeted around here lately.

Blais is a bust and a late 1st doesn’t get you Garland with 4 years of retainage

4 years of $2M + is done by zero teams in the NHL. To even contemplate something like this I would guess you would have to be at 2 1st rd picks to even consider and that’s just the retention, but realistically nobody is doing 4 years of retention.

Honestly that offer might get Garland (though I doubt it),but there is still $9,900,000 retention to deal with!

Too many people to sign to get Garland. We had plenty of opportunities to bring him in before he signed his last deal and we didn't.

4 years of retention alone would cost a first round pick.... Embarassing trade offer.

Not the season for a reclamation project. Target a cheap rental who isn’t going to be scratched. My suggestion is AA playing top line mins, will be in good shape for a 3rd line role, he great speed, is offensive. AA/Fil/Kravs could be a nice treat

Why is he a healthy scratch?! Is he playing as well as he usually does or is his play hot garbage? NYR have no business trying to figure out what’s wrong with his game or need to fix it. Not saying he won’t fix it later this year or next but it’s not NYR problem nor should they be interested in making it their problem. Contenders don’t make those moves

considering blais is a 6th round pick he can't really be called a bust

Considering what NYR traded for Blais, yes, he’s a bust
