That’s 4 games now on the 3rd line for Minten. Another night with no points. Really struggle if he has the ability to drive a line by himself. 10/19 on the draw with 1 shot on goal

I believe the Leafs would be wise to use him as a trade chip at the deadline while he still has the value of a high second round pick.

Im a big believer in Minten, but this is a concern thats lurked in the back of my head all season. I really doubt he gets traded considering the organizations high praise for him, and I don't necessarily want to move him, but his lack of production without a genuine superstar like Stankoven on his wing is concerning. To be fair to Minten, point production isn't a fantastic indicator of NHL projectability (i.e Pontus Holmberg) and he does definitely have some tools at this disposal that could lead to him being an NHL regular, but if San Jose says they want Minten in a package for Meier, I wouldn't really object to it.

I will be the first person to call myself out if I am wrong on Minten and join the fan club but it baffles me how anyone can see anything more than a defensive 4C potential. I see him more like former 1st rounder Riley Sheahan, very accomplished career as a bottom 6 player.

I feel like because the Leafs have had success with some recent draft selections they are blinded by what his potential really is.

He started the year (after his injury) really hot but since November 30thhe has been really inconsistent. Strings together a few nice games then zeros across the board. This was from a scouting report and has stuck with me, “there are times where it can look like he’s a physical, power forward with some one-touch skill and some scoring prowness around the net. There are other times where he looks like a fringe 4th liner whose value is derived strictly from his relentless forecheck and shoot-from-anywhere mentality.”

If you can get a Meier or O’Rielly, I’m moving Minten without question. I’d move Minten over Knies, Niemela, Robertson, and Hirvonen.

Knies 👌

Since Being drafted

2 WJC Appearances
1 Olympic Games Appearance

And add a potential Hobey Baker Trophy and NCAA championship Chefs Kiss

I really dont want to trade him unless its for Meier but if they can get a deal done without including him do it

As a Leaf fan and for Minten's sake, I certainly hope he can play to his best and be an NHLer. But geez doesn't it show how bad Dubas is at signing goalies. The disastrous Mrzarek UFA signing costs the Leafs to trade down out of the first rounder. How bad is that Murray trade, and the Leafs might have to give sweeteners to trade him or buy him out.

I'll disagree with anyone who thinks the Leafs should trade for Meier. It what cause more of a top heavy team in term of cap. Having cheap but good players are a necessity for teams success in a cap league which the Leafs haven't mastered. Minten, Niemela, Knies, picks shouldn't be traded away. The Leafs have traded away so many futures at TDL with absolutely no benefit.

I mean Dubas went and followed it up by signing Samsonov to a steal of a deal and moving 13 spots to get out of Mrazek can live with it. Murray trades fine as when he was healthy he was good for us. Heck is an upgrade over Mrazek at this point will take that. Plus Ottawa paid us to get him and its been good as now we got 2 goalies putting up nice numbers.

And No Leafs dont got to pay to move him as unlike Mrazek hes putting up good numbers and will only have a year left.

As a 2.73 GAA and a 0.911 SV is better than a 3.34 GAA and a 0.888 SV

Gorgeous feed from Grebyonkin. I'm so glad he got loaned out to Amur and is getting solid icetime, meanwhile Yurov is stuck as Magnitogorsk's 13th forward. Can't wait to see Grebyonkin transition to North American ice

Maybe something or nothing but wonder if he gets the Barb Underhill treatment once he gets to NA.

Thought Barb Underhill didn't work with the org anymore. Could've sworn I read that somewhere a while back.

Officially she is no longer employed by the Leafs, I believe she does contract work. I did she she was helping out during the last Traverse City tourny.

I think they still keep her around.

In the article I was referencing it said she was retaining select clients with TBL. Don't think she works with the team on a daily basis. Could have changed though.

Wickenheiser says of Tverberg: “This is a kid who is really intriguing. He is fearless in the way that he plays. He flies up and down the rink so very hard. A north-south game. Plays with a lot of pace. The next level for him is we continue to work with him on adding layers to his game. He certainly has the ability and physicality that translates to the pro game. He’s a kid that we really like, maybe a little underrated but certainly is someone that we believe in.”

Beauty goal from Kressler, really having an excellent year. That’s his 23rd goal in the year.

Really happy to see him succeeding this year, I was a huge advocate for giving him an ELC a few years ago. So, so good in the Traverse City tourney

Hmm. I can't see any news about this but Nikita Grebyonkin is not in the lineup for Amur today. I see he only played 13 minutes in an OT loss earlier this week, so I'm assuming he is hurt and missing some time. That sucks. 😥
