With Chychrun's health history, is it worth it? I don't think so. They should give up that 2023 1st in a package to upgrade the right side for a guy that has 2+ years.

In general he solves nothing

Hes a LD who yes can play RD but his defense aint the best. What Toronto needs is a more defense orientated RD

Of course Coyotes accept that deal. Leafs shouldn't even be trading Sandin for Chychrun straight up. Leafs don't need more cap or certainly no LHD.

Leafs need to make a deal for Zub from Ottawa or Murphy from the Hawks. That’s the type of right d man they could use.

Well, yeah, of course Arizona accepts that offer. The first, Sandin and Hirvonen is probably more than Toronto should pay, although it may not be all the Arizona GM is asking for. But why should you pay more for Chychrun than you did for Jake Muzzin, who's turned out pretty well for you despite his recent injury history?

I think Zub is the guy (if they can get him for something reasonable as a rental) and not Murphy since he probably signs for around the same as Murphy's 4.4. So, they can see how he does in Toronto and if they think he's worth bringing back for that then they sign him. Would be terrible if they pay up for Murphy and then he turns into a ghost, at 4.4mx3 and his 10-team no trade list, there would be no out.

I think Zub would pair well with Reilly and allow him to flourish. Sort of be what Lindgren is for Fox and Toews is for Makar. Or Methot to Karlsson back in the day. But your right better to test that out first before being locked down to a contract.

I can’t see Ottawa letting him walk and leaving no RD to play.

If the leafs want a good top four RD, they should trade Nielma, Kerfoot, 2023 first, Hirvonen and one more piece for Pionk and Lowry.

Yeah Ottawa wont give him to us as unless we massively overpay and they are out of a playoff spot it makes 0 sense for them to do so.

There is a guy though that might be obtainable.

Dylan Demelo as WPG could start to move guys out considering Heinola should start getting NHL time

How is his contract? Around $3 mil or so?

Got it, thanks. That’s a reasonable deal to acquire.
