NJ isn't giving up a single NHL player here and gets a top 10 goalie and top 10 LW. Think most would agree this makes NJ an instant cup favorite

Well Blackwood, but if they wanted an NHL skater you could swap one of the assets out for Sharangovich. Just figured in this scenario they would want picks and prospects more.

NJ is giving up someone they just took at 2nd overall (Nemec), a high pedigree 20 year old forward in the NHL (Holtz), a pretty promising 20 year old defensive prospect and former 1st rounder in Mukhamadullin, a 1st round pick in one of the deepest drafts in recent memory, a 1st round pick in 2024, and Blackwood who bleh but on an expiring deal.

In return, the Devils get 2 seasons of Hellebuyck (who is awesome), Connor (who is also great and has a nice contract), and Vesalainen (who isn’t even playing in North America anymore).

I get that trading your two best players isn’t fun, but this a king’s ransom for a team that probably isn’t contending now and would benefit from expediting the rebuild.

Yeah other than blackwood but 2 OA, 7 OA 2 years ago before and opportunities to land a very good player this and next year is not crazy if you are in a rebuild.

This package has basically everything the Jets would want in a trade for Hellebuyck and Connor. If they miss the playoffs again and Chevy gets fired, I could see them making a big shakeup move like this. The Jets probably don’t accept the trade right now, but next season they might if they end up wanting to go into a rebuild.

This is by far my favourite type of ACGM. One with an absolutely insane trade where I think both fan bases have to at least think about it.

    Well done. 10/10

Decent value trade for the Jets. Although I think the Jets would want someone better and more of a sure thing than Blackwood.

As a jets fan I accept this deal. I’d have to imagine NJ goes for it if they want to expedite the rebuild and win. Jets need to pick a direction and an offer like this would be hard to say no to and retool. I’d imagine this also means wheeler and Dubois are traded. Build around Perfetti, Holtz, Nemec, Muk, lambert, Lucius, Chibrikov.

Can’t ask for more than that I don’t think. If the jets are making a deal like this they’re rebuilding so wouldn’t need an amazing goalie anyways.

I guess that's a good point. I just don't see Blackwood as being much of anything, so I think they'd ask for someone/something else.

Nemec, Holtz, Muk and 2 1sts I think is a very fair price. Blackwood is essentially there to replace hellebuyck in the meantime for Winnipeg. Nemec is going to be very good. But NJ has hamilton.

Why is SJ, 3-7, adding a veteran? Logic...

Just wanted to dump him to a junk team. Free asset that might find a role in bottom 6 or help your AHL group.

Package would be weaker if it happens next season, NJ has playoff hopes this season that could be sunk by poor goaltending. Would also only have 1 year left on Hellebuyck's deal then.

Yeah that makes sense, just based off of the fact though that Winnipeg looks like they’re fully committed to try and make the playoffs this year. They probably wouldn’t make a trade like this unless things end up really deteriorating in the next 40 games. It’s an intriguing idea though and has positives for both teams, great ACGM team.
