Chicago declines; that MAYBE would get Murphy alone and without retention, but even then unlikely.

Ducks dont trade Terry for Nylander straight up let alone adding Klingberg tears of joy

This is putrid.

Anaheim counters with Henrique for Knies and Niemela and Chicago counters with Lafferty, Hardman and a 3rd for Brodie

I don't understand why some Toronto fans think that it would be advantageous for us to acquire William Nylander (to whom our play-by-play announcer, John Ahlers, amusingly kept referring to the other night by his father's name), even if he were available at a discount (which this offer certainly isn't). We weren't going to be contending this year even before Jamie Drysdale's season-ending injury and we won't be contending for a playoff spot in the last season of Nylander's contract, either. In my opinion, we'd only want Nylander on terms that would be utterly unacceptable to Toronto fans.

We're not giving you our 1RW who is still cost controlled and our 1RD for your 2 RW. Even if he is on a great deal, he walks in 2 years as a UFA, and probably asks for near Matthews money for his next deal.

Maybe nylander+holl gets you kling 50% retained, if Nylander comes with some good faith about a reasonable extension. This frees up 5.5 mil in cap to go acquire someone else as well.
