Description
Doom and Gloom season, time to grab some young guys and re-tool this thing. Their only current NHLers under 25 are Thomas, Kyrou, Neighbours, and Toropchenko. There is nobody waiting in the wings if/when the UFAs walk. Bolduc and Snuggerud are good prospects that should make the team in a couple years; the rest of the pool is hopeful at best. Moves are required IMO.

I know they can't just trade everyone just bc of a losing streak. And I know it's 9 games in and they aren't gonna lose the next 73. But trade anybody that will agree to it, and trade more guys away in the offseason. Keep the coach and the GM but put together a team that can skate and has something to prove. Make it fun to watch, idc if it takes a couple of seasons to transition. Whether they're in playoff contention or not, this is a massive deadline for the franchise. One last chance to try to plan a future. Or (more likely) they can seal their fate by handing out more UFA money to guys in their 30s.

RoR and Parayko

I would definitely be interested as a Sens fan

Think Zaitsev would need to go the other way, for cap reasons

It’d cost proably 4 firsts plus

Isles should not do that, should be keeping their 1st and Bolduc who looks like a stud and should be playing over Aho in the NHL soon enough.

OTT (ROR trade), Leafs trade, and NJ trade all seem like easy passes to me.

I don't think many teams wanted Binnington previously, and NJ would have a lot invested in net.

I think the blues take that leads trade but yea the other ones fs they pass on those are awful

The 2023 draft isn’t a great draft for defenseman, not sure about 2024.

Keep an eye out for these four LhDs from the US NTDP:
Brady Cleveland, 6'4", 210 lbs, committed to Wisconsin
Paul Fischer, 6'1", 190 lbs, committed to Notre Dame
Drew Fortescue, 6'1", 175 lbs, committed to Boston College
Carsen Musser, 6'4", 215 lbs, college not decided
(listed alphabetically only)
Db1899 liked this.

Right, because the solution always comes to light at the absolute lowest period in years. The deadline is months away, we're talking about six games here. It's certainly not like they're playing to anywhere near their talent/experience or executing as a team out there right now. They're playing like garbage crap refuse. I would advise all my fellow Blues fans to climb down off the ledge and take a breath. Or 17. We're all of nine games into the season. This too shall pass.

"The solution" isn't some inflexible always-true thing that we're all collectively realizing because of six games, it's dictated by the play of the team. If they figure it out then cool, the solution changes and we can forget about this. But when the GM is already throwing around the rebuild word I think it's more than fair to start brainstorming what that looks like. It's more interesting than watching the games right now.

What is Parayko's value? His advanced stats haven't been really that great lately

RoR : I can understand wanting a good return for him but I wouldn't go after him as he is aUFA to be. My plan is NOT to go ALL IN this year despite many ACGMs from other Sens fans who seem to go ALL IN\

Really not the timing to do it
