It gets more fair the longer I think about it.. kinda have to approach it with the mindset of which player is more likely to not live up to their contract, which I think is Miller.

My initial thought is I would be all over this. I haven't seen Parayko this year, but I have to believe that he has bounceback potential to at least function as a competent bodyguard for Hughes. Given our need for RHD and our excess of forwards, I would probably do it.

Not to argue too much here but is there a specific reason why the blues wouldn’t want miller? They have 2 top 6 pending UFA’s this year and miller will replace at least one of them. He’s a point per game guy and can play C and W.

My initial though when I posted this is that the Canucks would decline due to parayko’s limited ceiling

If we lose Parayko we don't have another player to replace him. He plays on our top pair and we don't have someone who could step in. There are not many D-men that can play on the top pair available. It doesn't matter if we get Miller because if we lose Parayko we suck still. If we are trading ROR and Tarasenko our team will be going through a mini rebuild/retool. No need for Miller in that scenario
