Vancouver drives Boeser to the aiport and you get free candied salmon. Not Boeser though he needs to stop eating it!

don't think a 3rd bridges the gap between dobson and nylander
dobson is younger, cheaper, plays a premium position, and expires as a rfa

Islanders should take this and run. Hopefully Dubas is smart enough to not pull the trigger.

Dunno about that. A player like Dobson is impossible to acquire without drafting.

I don't see why either team makes the deal. Yeah Dobson looks like he's going to be really really good. But Nylander despite his detractors, of which there are many and all are stupid, is also a really really good player. For this trade, TO would be left with a major hole up front but with a deeper albiat very very offensive blueline. They already have Rielly who is among the very very best at creating offence from the Blueline and with other young guys seemingly making steps. Liljegren has looked really good since he returned, and I personally really like how Sandin is developing, (still needs to be reigned in a bit) so it doesn't seem to be the right guy to target. Especially since we can find cheaper options to acquire some of Dobson's attributes. Perhaps Klingberg can be brought in at the deadline for much much less. Sure he's not nearly as good as Dobson but similar ilk, offensively gifted with size and perhaps not the best at defending.

Making this trade certainly adds strength to the Blueline but leaves us very very thin up front.

Isles should definitely trade a cost controlled franchise defenseman for a winger with a year left on his contract

Then they'll draft one. PPG wingers for a team short of wingers are far more important in our window.

He’d be the best D on Toronto by far. He’s already a top 15 D in the league.

RHD like Dobson are one of the hardest types of players to find in the draft. Leafs would be lucky to find a RHD better than him in the next decade

I'll take Cameron Allen but it is true that big RHD with good offense is hard to find

Maybe, but the Leafs defense is deep enough as is. Lack of scoring is costing them games now, not a defense.

My point is in terms of value Nylander isn’t close to enough for Dobson. To get the isles to trade a young franchise D it would have to be a significant overpay. Think Seth Jones , but even more

The way Bunting is playing right now he is on pace for 33 points. He isn't worth that money and has been a ghost quit often.

Flames don't trade up NHL goalie....for nothing. No way the Isles trade Dobson for short term Nylander. No way the Leafs trade for Boesner for good futures. Is Boesner even worth is contract?

Have you seen the 2024 draft class? 6 of the top 10 projected picks are Dmen.
Canucks desperately need high picks the next 2 drafts
