FO is not an indicator at all, Thompson is not good on faceoffs, but he is our best forward.
Mittelstadt's problem is that he is unstable and age is not in his favor in front of guys like Cozens, Krebs and Savoie. Cozens also flies like the wind, he is a more physical player, he can even fight if necessary. And he's better than Mitts on the wing if that's what it takes too. I think this could be Mittslast season at Buffalo and if he continues to play unsustainably, he will be traded. If he plays more good games, maybe he will have a chance. You yourself are constantly giving points as an example, so I pointed you to Skinner, who scores points, but plays poorly. Therefore, points are not an indicator, you need to look at the whole picture, vision check + metrics usually always works.
I only point to points because they are an easy way to illustrate.
Cozens missed an easy goal against BOS that probably would have sealed the game. Did your eyes see that? He's so far been incapable of finishing when he's had plenty of chances. I like his projection though. I think he can be a Drury-like player if he figures it out.
And don't get me wrong, I do like a physical game. I prefer winning games more and scoring goals more.
Calling Mitts old (he's 23), is ludicrous. Plus, he's been one of our best defensive forwards this year, playing a solid 2-way game.
I'm not sure why people make him a ripping boy. He's still a VERY young player in this league.
I don't understand why people think he's too old for this team. He's 23 and we're the youngest team in the league.
Now go ahead and take a look at the average ages of the 16 playoff teams last year. I'll wait.
