Dude. Stop encouraging this stuff I beg of you.

Get over it, it’s a hockey trade website. It’s closeish in value
I don’t think you understand how stacked the 2023 draft is. But as I said they’d proably have to change it to better prospects

Gogolev is a nobody. Voit literally weighs 150 lbs. You seem to not see the max retention. It's not close. And when you tell them something is reasonable, they run around for a week screaming "HUR DUR Blues fans say it's good!" and then keep posting it over and over.

The main thing anyone should be telling them right now, is FCOL find a new carcass to pick because this one ain't dead. At all.

It’s a ****in hypothetical
Ofc I believe irl the blues will be fine but Jesus man at least this is value
Irl if there is a trade (which I doubt happens) it’ll be ROR 50% for Kerfoot, Knies(or someone along that value) 2023 first and a 3rd

Okay, in what realm of the multiverse is Voit/Gogolev even remotely close to Knies/Kerfoot? Those two Braccos aren't even worth UFA Kerfoot by himself.

Hardly anyone goes for prices that high at the deadline. And right now the rental market is deep. It looks like a buyer's market. Not many teams with cap and a lot of sellers. That reduces returns. Some people just don't understand that. So they isolate some trade from years ago that was an insanely bad deal for the acquiring team and then say "see!" . It's not remotely reasonable.

Thank you for being reasonable.

Also Voit is a top scorer in major junior and while small, still has lots of growing to do and is immensely talented. You can't teach that, he's worth keeping an eye on. Yeah you can get a better prospect but you have the opinion that all Leaf prospect suck so there is no conversation just the usual, "St Louis wants 2 firsts, your best two prospects and a roster player to even listen". It's hilarious

I don’t see what the deal is about max retention on a rental. None of our retention spots are filled, it doesn’t hurt the situation next year, and it’s literally just a sunk cost for the owner.

Also: I’m NOT looking this up, but ROR contract is all signing bonus right?

Nice strawman army ya got there. Why do you persist with this factually bankrupt line that I have made astronomical asks here when you cannot even manage to provide ONE example of this? Don't bother replying further until you have ONE. I won't.

It's trade value, dude. Why would you not care? And we both know getting Army to retain won't be easy or cheap.

Yeah sure, but retention isn’t gonna land some awesome addition. Maybe a middle round pick or two

It doesn't necessarily have to be a pick, but it does need to be accounted for in the offer. We don't run a charity for long suffering Canadian franchises.

Shelling out 3.75m is a very big deal to the ones paying it. Maybe it's not a big deal, but it is a deal. And I'm not at all sure why anyone would be fine with retaining for free. That's just not realistic. Meanwhile, this offer isn't good enough without the retention anyway.
