Not good for WPG; I dont see a single incentive in it for them. They need another LD like they need another injury and I doubt they'd want to run it back with Armia, especially at the cost of Barron, who is young, cheap and has looked good on the team.

Kings aren't going to sell low on Turcotte.

They're also looking for a defenseman with more than 26 games worth of NHL experience. I'm sure Harris will be a fine defenseman, but he's not the type of player that the Kings would give up one of their best trade chips for.

They have absolutely 0 interest in Monahan.

The value is more than fair but COL isn’t taking on a $4.5M 3rd line contract.

With their strength and depth at center*, Kings have no need for Monahan even if he were a cheap rental.

We'd love to have Jordan Harris, but I don't see how in good conscience you could even think of trading him. He could have waited a few weeks after his collegiate career was over and signed with anyone; instead, he signed with Montreal. You should be thinking of Guhle and Harris as your top two LDs of the future.

* Kopitar, Danault, Byfield, Lizotte plus Vilardi, Kupari and Anderson-Dolan as wingers on the main roster, with Turcotte, Madden Pinelli and Helenius in the system and Hughes in the pipeline.)

You bring up a good point with Harris that I think gets ignored way too often on these boards, by fans of every team - GMs have to think about the personal connection and how things are gonna play in the locker room. Trading Harris 8 months after signing him when he could've waited a couple weeks and controlled his destiny is something people are going to take note of - now the next time you've got a college kid finishing up his eligibility and choosing between the two, he's gonna think "man remember what happened to Jordan Harris" and pass on whatever you're offering him. Same goes for all the trades where guys over 30 are waiving NTCs from their hometown team to go play on a rebuilding squad 3000 miles away, same goes for the trades where a guy has an extension in place and gets moved before it even kicks in. Players and agents notice these things, and they remember these things, and generally being ruthless to that extent is going to come back around at some point - which is why you rarely see it happening in the real world.

Winnipeg has no need or interest in cap dumps and LD.
