Leafs have zero interest in 6.75m Provonov. Either M NTC Muzzin returns or else the Leafs spend his 5.6m on a Dman better than Provonov and not have to give up good assets. Besides the Leafs have three LHD next year, not including Muzzin.

Leafs pass, muzzin will ltiretire and we aren't interested in moving knies, LD isn't our weak point. Would consider kerfoot Villeneuve and a 1st

If it were a 2023 1st I think the Flyers would consider

There aren't really many, if any better defenseman with term on the market for sub 7 AAV than Provorov

What possible interest would boston have in Hayes?

He's been a roughly PPG Center since returning from injury last year making less than 5 AAV with retention. Would be a huge 3C upgrade for a playoff run and could easily slot in as 2C if either of Krejci or Bergeron retire after this season

I feel like the Isles could make better use of their assets

Right, but i thought this would be at the deadline.

Bruins have all their center positions filled and then some

Neat trick for Boston to take on even more cap when they are already over for a player they don’t need.

Muzzin is likely done, And he sure as hell isn't waiving for Philly.

Reilly and Boston's 2023 1st round pick for Kevin Hayes, Sure as hell isn't happening.

FWIW if it'd require Philly retaining more or taking on more "bad" cap they'd probably do it. Even if Hayes were overkill for a deadline deal, I think it'd make sense as an offseason move with retention

I think something like this could be equally plausible in the offseason

Offseason would be much better. If Bergy and DK both retire, and they find some cap space next year, and they don’t resolve that in free agency…they can talk. Pretty much zero ability to this year.

That's fair enough. Especially with the hometown thing and how his personal situation in particular might make that more appealing for him I think it could be a good fit. He's been good since he got healthy from injury, Phillys just in a position where there's 0 reason to keep him if there's a chance to get any assets for him (and mind you, with 2.5-3.5 retained that's probably cheaper than anyone available in FA)

Well then the plausibility would be zero, because there’s no shot it happens during the season. It makes zero sense for boston. Off-season, maybe. This year, no shot.

Why give him Sandins spot when he is developing quite nicely plus Knies is not being moved
