As someone on the outside looking in, this trade looks fair if EDM retains a million on Nuge. Contract situation becomes fairly even then

Not fair Faulk is an elite defenseman and Nuge is a 2nd line center. Faulk>Larsson and Larsson cost them Hall.

I don't know why fans think the Larsson was so bad for the Oilers. Oilers needed a good Dman with a good contract. Larsson did that. And Maroon and Lucic have done quite well as the top two LWers.
Folks on this site, too often look as trades....just player values....a lot of REAL trades have to do with team building.
Faulk for RNH. It kinda fills a need for both teams. But Oilers would have to add. One reason other teams offer for Faulk.
For instance....and I'm not saying these trades are one for one trades. Johnson of Tampa, Stefan or Hayes of NYR. Maybe the Leafs could put together a package.

How's Carolina adding a pick to the deal, Faulk is worth more then Ryan Nugent-Hopkins try more like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins+3rd for Justin Faulk at the very least.

No. It's not fair. Nuge has value. But it is significantly lower than Faulk

Value is way off. RNH is a 3C and Faulk is a top pairing defender. That doesn't happen

Well, we'll disagree. It wasn't that lopsided. Devils stayed the same Devils with Hall. Larsson (yea it wasn't all him of course) helped the Oilers improved. Again team building.
