No one is going anywhere near Jones with that kind of cap hit.

I don't see Seth agreeing to a trade to any Canadian team, but if he did, and if the Hawks were willing to trade him and retain $7m, this package isn't quite right. Lilypad or Niemila in place of Sandin. Robertson in place of Abruzzese. And something else of value for that $7m the Hawks will be retaining. Kerfoot and Engvall add no value in this deal for the Hawks.

Lets just add another huge contract, that will probably fix it.

well since Jones plays like dog **** i dont think you get any assets for him. signed until he is 35 years old and to a pile of money. that cap space can be spent better ways.

Surely any NHL GM, or 99% of CF GMs could spend 8.8m a lot better than Jones. An absolute horrid trade for the Leafs.

You're kidding. The Leafs or just about any team would not take Jones even if he was "gifted" to them. Sandin for Jones might be fair on ice value but Leafs aren't taking that awful 7.4m cap difference.

I don't disagree with you in any way. The Jones contract is awful. No idea why anyone would suggest Jones to Toronto is a good idea. I was merely replying to the poster what I thought the Hawks would ask for IF this trade was ever made. Which I don't think it would.

According to many on here, the Leafs are going to be desperate for an RD until the end of time. If they had Makar instead of Holl they would still be desperate for an RD.

I'm seeing a trend with your posts.

TOR sends a lot of players and picks for a very expensive RHD. Just not going to work.

One of the most ill-informed posts I've seen on here in a LONG time...."dog ****"....either you don't watch Jones play since being a Hawk or you don't know hockey very well.

Sandin for jones on ice value (contracts aside) is far far from fair. Jones is a WAY better player then Sandin as of now. No argument on Jones being paid $2M to $2.5M too much, but if his contract was $7M to $7.5M, plenty of teams would like him on their roster on their first line. The guy is very good, he's just not elite and yet is being paid like an elite player

I honestly hope, for Jones sake, that he gets traded to a good team at some point. CHI is dragging him and his value down, and who knows when we'll have a legit partner for him that he actually has chemistry with. He came here to win and now the team is in shambles. But I doubt CHI trades him for a package like this, and I doubt they retain any of his cap hit unless its years down the road and there is only like 2 or 3 years left on the contract.

True, you could spend it on Kerfoot, Engvall, and Holl.

Glad you mentioned Holl.....He's playing better than Jones. But if you're talking next season.
Jones at 8.8m and three plugs at 1m. that's. 11.8, Sandin 1.4, Holl, 3m, Bunting 5m, Kampf 2.4m.....that's 11.8.

The Bowman legacy continues.
